An excellent addition to my existing Reolink system!
I have nothing but praise for Reolink. After almost a year of using my RLK8-800B6 6-camera 4K PoE system, I recently added two of these Reolink RLC-810A 4K PoE cameras to expand my coverage, and I am thoroughly impressed. I bought these specifically to integrate with my existing system, and they have exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment they arrived, I could tell the cameras were high quality. Delivery was fast, and the packaging was excellent, with each camera individually bagged and secured within tough polystyrene supports to prevent movement or damage during transit. The cameras are essentially identical in appearance to the ones that came with my RLK8-800B6 system, except for a tiny blue seal that is barely visible and white cables instead of black, which will be hidden once installed anyway, so it really isn’t an issue. The metal housings have a smooth white powder coating, giving a professional look while ensuring durability against the weather. The lenses are large and provide a broad viewing angle, allowing me to cover even more of my front and back gardens with clarity I never thought possible. Adding the RLC-810A cameras to my existing RLK8-800B6 system was effortless. Using CAT6 PoE cables, each camera only needed one connection for both power and data. Connectivity has been flawless. The cameras link seamlessly to my existing system, and I have experienced no dropouts or interruptions, even over longer cable runs. The system auto-detects new cameras quickly, making integration simple and reliable. Within seconds of plugging them into the NVR, the new cameras were live and fully integrated with my existing setup. The Reolink app, available on both Android and Apple iOS, immediately recognised the cameras and allowed me to adjust all settings, view live feeds, and manage recordings. I love how everyone in my household can access the system on their phones. Once you pay for the system, that is it. There are no hidden costs and no subscription fees, although cloud storage is available if you prefer. The performance of these cameras is outstanding. The 4K Ultra HD video is crisp, sharp, and full of detail. The smart human and vehicle detection works flawlessly, drastically reducing false alerts from animals or moving branches. Night vision is remarkable, and I can clearly see across my entire garden even in complete darkness. These cameras also support audio recording, which is a welcome addition. I have positioned one above my front door and one above the back door, and the audio clarity is excellent. This feature gives me the confidence to hear anyone approaching clearly, adding an extra layer of security. The red IR lights act as a visible deterrent, adding an extra layer of security. Like my previous system, the RLC-810A cameras come with a two-year warranty, which I was able to extend by six months for free simply by registering online. This gives added peace of mind and shows Reolink’s commitment to customer satisfaction. These cameras have proven to be highly reliable. They integrate seamlessly with my existing system, run consistently without issue, and withstand all weather conditions. Expanding my setup with the RLC-810A cameras has been a smooth process, and I could not be happier with the results. Reolink’s quality and attention to detail continue to impress, and the system remains easy to use and highly dependable. If you are considering expanding your Reolink system, the RLC-810A cameras are an excellent choice. They are durable, feature-rich, and integrate effortlessly with existing 4K PoE setups. I am delighted with the increased coverage, the clear audio, and the enhanced security they provide. Reolink continues to earn my loyalty, and I would recommend these cameras to anyone looking to improve or expand their home or small business security system. Thank you for taking the time to read my review. I hope you found it helpful and that it assists you in your decision-making. I try to be as honest and fair as possible, as those have always been the reviews that helped me the most.

Excellent quality and value for money CCTV
Very easy to set up with just a POE injector, WIFI Pod and a 256gb micro SD providing 4-5 days of recordings. No need for an NVR, unless you want more than one camera, Fantastic picture, day and night. All in all, cost less than £100 to have a very good CCTV system at home that you can view from anywhere in the world with a wifi or data connection. Highly recommend for piece of mind.

Great camera
Found tai a great camera and easy to use, installation was a bit complex when matching it to a synology server to capture images, but got there in the end.

Well made and clear images.
Very nice camera. Better built than my previous 811 cameras, and has the focus option not on my others.

Product flaw
I purchased this camera (RLC-810A) because my previous Annke equivalent died due to a faulty weather gasket - rain entered the RJ45 connector and caused the camera to die. A review by someone on the Amazon review page for the Annke suggested this camera since it offered a higher resolution and frame rate than the Annke, so I thought I'd give it a go. The installation was straightforward and fitted into the same screw holes as the Annke, so really fast to put in place. Setting up using the downloaded Windows app was reasonably quick too. I did experience some technical issues because I was using a Synology Diskstation for the recording of video and following the Reolink guide to make it work didn't. The Synology didn't pick up the camera via the ONVIF protocol. However, setting a static IP address and then adding the camera manually by IP address resolved that. The other issue, more with the Synology was that when setting up the camera you need to select H265 as the camera recording format, otherwise you won't receive the 4k stream, you'll only get the way lower draft stream. I had to dig around Reddit to find that out. I've had the camera in place less than 3 weeks and it's already failed - showing as disconnected on the Synology and caught in a boot-loop by the Reolink app. It was the weekend of the snow that hit the UK and according to the time stamp of disconnection from the Synology it occurred around the time of the thaw when we had light rain after the snow. Further digging in to fixes and problems I find out that the reset button that sits on its own wire from the camera can have a problem of letting water get into it. This water bridges the wires in the button and makes the camera think it's being reset. Some people have cut the wire off and just kept the 2 wires separate and insulated. I didn't want to do that just yet and waited for it to dry out. 2 days later and the camera had stabilised and I could re-initialise it - settings were all set back to default. I will see how the camera fares and if it occurs again I will give the camera a vasectomy, since I think having an external means of resetting the camera is a pretty poor security design anyway. Image quality was good, and being able to record 4k at 25fps is a good upgrade over the Annke at the same price. My only criticism of the image settings is that the overlaid text colour can't be changed and the positioning of the text is limited, so it's difficult to read the date/time during daytime images (white on white). The Annke had a feature where it would invert the colour depending on the colour beneath it so it was always visible. A concern that will have to wait to be tested was that the camera was warm to the touch during the freezing temperature. I'm sure this is because the camera is being pushed hard - 4k @ 25fps using H265 encoding requires some processing grunt. I hope the camera will tolerate this during summer when we may well hit 40'c again.

Took a little while to get it working with Synology Surveillance Station
Works fine with Synology Surveillance Station but there are some things that need to be done first. 1. 4K streaming requires Synology's H265 codecs to set the camera to use H265, otherwise all you will get is a poor quality low resolution stream ("Fluent") in H264. These can be installed via Synology's media extension package but they also need a second stage of installation via your Synology Account. I clicked on this last option but nothing happened - it turned out there was a pop-up that my browser was blocking. Unblocking it fixed that and installation could be completed. The server should then be rebooted. 2. While I could access the camera via its IP address in Reolink's software installed on my PC, Surveillance Station could not detect it, even though the camera was listed in Surveillance Station's camera list. Didn't work as Onvif either. I then found a number of settings buried in the network menu of Reolink's software (click on the cog symbol against RLC-810A) which were disabled by default. Go to the Advanced menu at the foot of the right hand side, where you can enable upnp/UID, and further down, Server Settings, where you can enable HTTP or HTTPS, RTSP and Onvif. Once this was done, the camera was detected by Surveillance Station and I could set it up to use H265 and stream a 3840*2160 at 8192Kbps. Picture quality is, at that resolution, unsurprisingly rather good. Viewing on a PC has to be done via Synology's standalone Monitor Centre software or Reolink's - the web browser version of the former will not display H265 and defaults to the low res "Fluent" stream, or at least does on Firefox. Synology's DS Cam looks very good on an ipad.

Great starter kit
Easy to setup, make sure you set the quality to high and have decent sized storage (low quality is potato cam and would be useless for anything legal, high quality is perfect even at night in my unlit garden). Motion detection has good sensitivity, great price for entry level kit.

Good camera
