ELASTO-GEL LARGE SUPPORT ROLL, 4" X 10"

I purchased this roll for my mother, whom has neck pain frequently due to Schuermans Disease as well as Degenerative Disk Disease and a Discetomy she had some years ago. She had been going to physically therapy and they allowed her to use one in the office for the chronice headaches she was getting.Wow, does this thing work. Actually, it works so well that I almost ALMOST kept it for myself.You place the roll into the freezer for an hour or so (she stores her's in the freezer) and then you lay on it. It's amazing. Cold, but not 'OMG my neck is going to get freezer burnt, do I have frost bite?' cold. It's nicely squishy while still being very supportive, and the large is just the right size.I've found myself going over to her house on occasion when I have a headache I can't get rid of, just to use it. It certainly relaxes the muscles in your neck fairly quickly.If you have frequently headaches, neck pain, stiff neck, or stress I would HIGHLY recommend getting one. I'm looking forward to ordering a second one soon.

This cervical roll is terrific. Huge upgrade to the makeshift rolled-up towel. I first ordered the 3", having seen many reviewers say the 4" is too big, and even many said the 3" is too big and/or too hard. Unfortunately the 3" is too small for me; I could barely feel any support under my neck, so I ended up ordering the 4". It's slightly bigger than ideal for me. 3 1/2" would have been perfect, but I am happy with the 4". I gave only one star for value because you can't return these, so essentially I paid twice to get one already-pricy neck roll. Otherwise, I love it. It has a cool feel to it even when not refrigerated, and the coolness stays as it does not seem to absorb body heat. I haven't tried refrigerating or microwaving it yet, but I've been using it with a heating pad over it and that works great.FYI for sizing purposes, I'm a woman just under 5'7", weigh 130, and I have a pretty long neck.

I suffer from chronic neck pain. I have a slight scoliosis between my shoulders that keeps my neck in consistent pain. I have tried everything, acupuncture, chiropractic treatments, a number of different pillows that were chiropractor recommended. Not to mention a number of tools and contraptions for neck relief. I pitched the large roll and honestly, when I pulled it out of the bag I thought there was no way it would be the right size. I put it in the freezer and tried it anyways because I was desperate for relief. I fell asleep on my back for awhile with this neck roll and when I woke up I could not believe how the pain and tension had decreased!!! It is not completely gone but so much better and manageable now. I take it to bed every night and fall asleep with it, when I wake up I go back to my normal pillow. I am not waking up in excruciating pain and tension headaches any longer! So worth trying if you suffer from tension headaches and neck pain!

I bought this for my neck after enjoying the one my massage therapist uses during my sessions. She recommended the larger of the two sizes to really help stretch out my neck. The gel material the roll is made up of is amazing -- squishy yet firm and NOTHING like an ice pack's hardness. The large size that I got holds it's cool for much longer than I was led to expect from the description and reviews. I also suffer from headaches and was pleased to find that I can use this against my temple while lying on my side, in addition to on my neck. I've even laid on it face down when I had a migraine -- it provides so much more coolness than my eye masks and the pressure of laying on it and the softness of the gel, as well as its 'give' which allowed it to shut light out, were enormously helpful.

Isn’t effective for a good icing of a target location. Ie neck. However, it does make a decent neck pillow.

The item arrived in a damaged FedX pouch and the ziploc bag the roll was in was smeared with what smelled like some kind of menthol salve. The greasy salve had smeared onto the blue wrap. The whole thing stunk and was greasy. I do not want it because I do not know where it has been or how it was handled. It was not unopened, undamaged and does not seem to be unused. Would actually like a neck roll that is not gross.FOLLOW UP - Although Ithaca Sports says they do not accept returns of Elasto-Gel products, when I talked to them they allowed me to return it and get what I wanted. So, thanks for that!

I purchased the Elastomer-Gel Cervical support Roll after a doctor recommended that I try it for on-going neck pain and strain due to severe neck injury way back in 1990. The doc had it for sale at the clinic for $79. This one cost me more than 1/2 less. Setting aside the price, because the gel roll works so well that now I would pay any price. I am a 5' 7" tall female. I am an average size. I bought the large roll to help support and shape the curvature of my neck. The bigger roll does offer much support and I've had this roll for many months and it has stayed like new in its ziplock bag in my freezer. Since I use it daily, I was afraid that it would not stand the test of time. I had nothing to worry about. This is an awesome product and I LOVE the price offered here on Amazon.

On the journey to correct neck posture, this pillow is a must!
