EF950 Folding Knife Pocket Knives D2 Steel Blade G10 Handle Ball Bearing with Pocket Clip Outdoor Camping Knifes(Jade)

I own a lot of knives from all price ranges and I have a few of these budget Eafengrow knives. They make very nice budget knives, but this particular knife is literally one of the best, if not THE best, budget knives I have ever bought. The axis lock on this knife is as smooth as a lightsaber when you flip it open. All jokes aside, it does open smoother than any other budget knife I own and smoother than some of my more expensive knives. I can honestly say I wasn't just lucky to get a good one because I bought two of these knives and both of them are of equal quality. Not only does the blade deploy smoothly, but the overall fit and finish of the blade and knife components is excellent. The handle is very ergonomic and the groove under the axis lock keeps your index finger in a safe position while cutting. Edge retention seems to be very good so far. The jimping on the spine of the blade is very nicely done and comfortable to rest your thumb on while cutting. It has a deep carry pocket clip with the right amount of bite to stay in place but not too tight when drawing the knife from your pocket. It is just a little on the chunky side but it's not enough to notice when it's in your pocket, it's still light and comfortable to carry. I highly recommend this knife if you're on a budget or even if you just want a cheaper knife to EDC. I've bought two of them and I wouldn't hesitate to buy more.

This is a great knife, but not necessarily the greatest knife, even for its good steel, price, and overall value. I'll explain. Here's my take on the Pros/Cons of this cool folder: Pros: This knife has a sharp-out-of-the-box 3.25 inch (83mm) D2 blade, but because of its nice belly and slight sharpening choil, the cutting edge comes in at a better 3.35 inches (85mm). It features G10 scales a smooth and reassuring axis lock, and a deep-carry pocket clip. Steel liners are moderately skeletonized, bringing the total weight to a comfortable 3.75 ounces (by my digital scale). The action is very smooth, no doubt aided by bearing washers at the pivot. The blade has a very sharp high flat grind. The knife feels good in the hand. Cons: Since this sports bearings, it would normally be a great flipper. However, this is not a flipper. Frankly, for me the flipper/pocket pecker makes a knife great for speedy opening and for fidgeting, but at the same time it reduces cutting space when put onto a flat surface. The rectangular "Spydie" hole does not help this flip, although it does enable smooth single-hand opening. (Some may have skill at "flipping" the knife by means of the axis lock.) My belief is that this knife would have been better served with bronze washers instead of bearings. My issue with bearings as washers is that overall they end up inhibiting continuous EDC because bearings collect lint, dirt, etc. more so than plain washers. But maybe that's just me. Eafengrow is a China company that has for a long time misstated its steel (e.g., stating D2 steel when it is actually 8Cr13MOV) and has been accused of ripping off original designs. I was an early victim of this and own several Eafengrow knives that were advertised as D2 steel, but turned out (upon third-party testing) to be the more common Chinese 8Cr13MOV steel. I don't have an issue with 8Cr13MOV steel, but I do object to being deceived, no matter how great the deal is. Be that as it may, in a June 27, 2020 video, LuvThemKnives presented an early YouTube discussion on the Eafengrow owner's attempts to ensure that their steel is now what it is proclaimed to be. This is reassuring. The D2 steel advertised for this model is very likely real D2, at least based on recent tests of the new models coming from Eafengrow. Overall, this is a really great knife--excellent slicer, perfect size and weight for EDC, smooth action, solid lockup, fabulous looks, and high-value pricing. While it's not the greatest knife, it is a great knife. And great is way better than good.

This knife is hard to beat for the money. Very high quality, very sharp out of the box. The over all build quality is nice. The Axis lock is alittle stiff but it sure keeps it locked up nicely. Opening and closing it overtime will loosen it up. D2 steel is good steel as well at this price point. I own many knives from very high end to knives like this. And this is a top notch budget friendly knife. Its on par with much more expensive knives.

Great price & materials. Lock was a little tight at first but after a week is loosening up without tooling. Function is great. Only complaint I have is that the scale edges are a little sharp, no hot spots but noticeable

The tolerances are super tight, bearings very smooth the blade is wonderfully sharp. Love the pocket clip, screws and clip are recessed into the handle and love the deep pocket position. I have rather large hands and the handle space feels a little small but not uncomfortable. The spring in the axis lock feels very stiff out the box but should smooth out with fidgeting. Over all very good value for the price point EF has impressed me yet again.

Very high quality craftsmanship. The polished stainless steel skeletonized liners are mated perfectly with the handle, the axis lock is secure & smooth, and the tactile feel of the knife is amazing. An excellent EDC knife, I was so impressed after the fist purchase that I ordered a second and I liked that one even more with the green jade coloring.

Blade is thick and sturdy. Locks up tight. G10 scales are nice, just as pictured. Pocket clip is tight and holds well. Decent quality for money. Looks smaller in photos. Chunky. Medium weight heavy. Thicker than expected. If you're expecting similar to the Bugout, this isn't it. Griptilian size maybe.
