Q: How is it picking up dog hair on hardwood floors?

With brush on and set to low pile, it worked great on my hardwood floors. Still need to wet mop after though for the scrubbing and shining.

Q: are filters washable? or do you have to replace? reviews state not washing them but also can't find replacements either video shows her rinsing them

The upper is washable and lower (HEPA) tappable but eventually need to be replaced. you can currently buy six filters (4+2 pack) for $18.00 on Amazon

Q: How do you get the hose to suck up?

On the handle there is a slide like button that says low carpet or plush carpet. Put it on low carpet and the hose will have good suction. I had to figure that out. I was thinking that it had horrible suction and was going to send it back.
