PenncrossCreeping Bentgrass - 10 Pounds

The seed arrived in a large ziplock bag that partially opened in transit. As a result when I opened the envelope a portion of seed fell out. I wasn't ready for that to happen. The seed is small as expected, almost dust-like. Since you must wait for the seed to germinate I'm not completely sure about the end result yet. The new grass is now about 1" tall in some places but much shorter in other places. We've had a huge amount of rain here so I'm not sure how much this cooler, wet weather has impacted the growth.

I have used this brand for years with great results. Getting two pounds lets me over seed in the spring and this fall. People are impressed with my putting green and it is a lot of fun to chip to. I do not use any chemicals except a fertilizer rotation. In the fall I take a soil sample and send it off to the extension service to be tested. In ten years I have been within the recommendations, with this great seed hardly any weeds get through or have I had much in the way of mold.

I was surprised how quickly it arrived. I'm testing this grass in N. Idaho and it is growing just fine. Germination is a tricky thing no matter what you're growing. Preparing and maintaining good growing conditions (and patience) was the key for me. Now I'm interested in seeing how it handles the winter up here. I expect it will do just fine. I recommend this product and the company that sells it.

I bought a 1# bag of seed in the spring and the only issue I had was with the delivery of the product. I bought the 2# bag from them in the early fall but before I ordered it I told them what happened with the 1# bag that I ordered and asked them to add an extra layer of padding to protect the seed if they were going to use the same shipper. They added extra padding and everything shipped great. I have grass growing in my back yard and can't wait for spring to keep working on my putting green.
