Does not make that classice ripping sound
The way the grooves are cut into the wood, straight in with no bevel, running the stick over the grooved piece makes a very slight ripping sound. It's not the classic sound you remember from when you were a kid in music class.No doubt beveling the grooves would make a huge difference. Now I know what to look for if I search for another rhythm stick set.

Good for toddlers and music class
It’s always a little scary getting an Amazon product with no reviews, so I figured I would leave one. There’s not much to these sticks, but they work as advertised. They’re good for little hands, the grooves in one create the sound when the smooth one drags across it, and they’re longer than some other products in this category (a foot vs 8 inches). There are cheaper products that likely work just as well on Amazon and elsewhere, but I needed the fast free shipping so I went with these. They seem like decent quality that will hold up.
