Great book.

These are really cute stories with varying themes and morals for children. For my purposes as a Ukrainian learner, they were amazing for understanding more artistic language. It is worth noting that a lot of the language does not follow the accepted rules of the Ukrainian language, but they still use the words in ways commonly used in many areas of Ukraine such as Karpaty.

Not bad, all these tales are new to me.

Tales in this book are not Ukrainian and are straight up fake. Whoever made this book up wants to discredit Ukrainian culture and make it look like Russian (tsars, their sons and the like). The tales do not make any sense and do not reflect Ukrainian heritage. I bought another book in Ukrainian and it seems to be made by the same publisher (not even a name of the publisher, just Made in USA, city and barcode, see photo). Same set of fake tales that do not make sense.If you want to read Ukrainian folk tales - search for The Mitten, Sirko, Kotygoroshko. And please buy from a trusted publisher!
