This is a well-made and useful tool. I am using it to shear and bend 26 Ga brass and 20 Ga copper sheet. The cuts are perfectly clean, with no ripple along the cut edges. The bending brake also works well, although it is worth polishing the surfaces of the rams with abrasive cloth if you want to reduce scratching of the workpiece surface. I have the machine on a low rolling dolly which I keep under a workbench when not in use. Clamping the machine to the dolly platform with an F-clamp gives enough stability for everything I have done so far.

For $200, this shear works fine ... crudely made but with just enough attention to detail where it counts. If you plan on using it every day, I'd spend more for better quality. The bending brake feature was tried and seemed to be good as well. Not every tool you owns needs to be great quality ... this might be one of them.

Nice little shear. I won’t use the brake on this tool but it appears to be good as well. Blades cut 18g aluminum with ease and leaves a nice clean edge. Came packaged well with lots of protective oil to inhibit rust. No blade adjustments needed on mine, ready to cut after quick assembly.

I absolutely love my new Kaka Industrial 8 inches Manual Mini Shear/brake Combination Machine. The shear is very easy to use and saves me an incredible amount of time! I am still practicing with the brake of my tool, as I am creating a very specific design. The results have been excellent! Time saving, fun to use, and just the right size for a small studio!

I first gave this a poor review but when I mounted it to the workbench I realized it was out of alignment. After adjusting it I can rewrite my review as follows: Over the years working in different educational settings teaching jewelry/metals, I've used many of these shear/brakes that cost 4 times what this one sells for. I am on a tight budget teaching art, including jewelry/metals at a high school so when I saw this one I ordered it. To be honest, I didn't expect too much for $169, but have been pleasantly surprised. It bends (brakes) very well--accurate and shears the metal as advertised. It's limited to soft metals like sterling silver, copper and aluminum. It is limited to very thin metal-- 20 gauge and under but so are the expensive ones. It is a good shear to use in a school because students tend to push equipment beyond the limits because if it gets damaged I would rather have spent $169 than $1000 on one.

This is a very nice, heavily built machine that looks like it will handle my needs for years to come. It also came well packed and well protected from rust while in transit. I'll be looking at Kaka for my future needs as well.
