Is Sizing A Quiz Salomon?!
Previously bought Salomon Speedcross 4 GTX in a size 8.5, as all reviews said to go a half size up. Normally an 8, but the Speedcross sizing was so small, that every time I wore them the skin was rubbed off the ends of my big toes. So, thinking logically, I bought these Alphacross trainers in a size 9.......they arrived and to my utter confusion, they are so oversized, they are like flippers on my feet!, and even make a flapping sound when I walk in them! :DWhat do we have to do to get Salomon shoes the right size and fit Salomon?!!!!!!!The prices you're charging for them, you'd think you'd manage to source a company that can at least make them to standardized sizes!!!!

Light-ish, look good, watch the size, traction an issue?
Throughout this UK Lockdown I've put in anything up to 100 miles a week down on the pavement, especially when my gym was closed. This was in mainly Brooks or Puma issue trainers. I think my debut Salomon purchase could be a great one! Traction and dryness were my priorities, especially as we've had some snow and it's always too wet here. So far, so good though they haven't been absolutely soaked yet. I've read other reviews. I'm mighty pleased I went a half size down (6.5. I'm a 7 laceup or 6.5 slip on loafer type normally). The laces are absolutely fine with a double knot, so don't worry about that. Comfort is top though weight is not ultra feather light like the legendary Brooks. If I stay dry enough after their first exposure to rain and I get some respectable wear for my spend, I may stick to this brand a while longer.

Fantastic shoes overall!!
I had to return these because they were to small, it kinda baffles me cos I had a veryyyyyy similar pair to these size 9 and they were perfect! 🙄They came from Germany, I wonder if they were made in a different country to the other pair, I’ve even had some of the same type that came from Spain, same size and they fit perfectly ......some of the sizes are slightly out.I got free returns so obviously that helps even though ya get wet walking to the post office to return them 🙄😖😁I may order another pair of the same type soon see where they come from and if they fit because Trust me these are the Best walking/Running shoes money can buy!!!!!!!!!Everything except for sizing in some countries they come from .....LOL .....is Perfit, would I recommend them .....You bet your sweet tush I would! The other pair I had were speed lace up system, I like those. These Alfa cross are lightweight, waterproof, cool looking. They are Fantastic for walking in, I walk for fitness around town and some out of town and they are perfect, not sure what they would be like for a Hiker walking through fields Etc, they are good strong material so they would probably take a good beating!I would Highly Recommend them!!

Excellent for light off road running
I read a few reviews that questioned the sizing on these but went ahead and ordered the size I am (UK 9) and thankfully they are a perfect fit.The grip is good for my use which is predominantly bridle ways and the odd field crossing. They have a stiffer sole and firmer cushioning than a standard running shoe but I still find them very comfortable. Only done around 70 miles in them so far but found them to be stable and give good traction. They have so far kept the water out and I have been caught in some torrential downpours.I don't imagine they will be too hard wearing on the upper but for my purposes that isn't an issue.Overall so far so good and the price was very good too.

Good trainers, good price.
Nice lightweight trainers. I bought a 1/2 size larger than my actual size due to bad experiences with tight Salomons in the past.I saw some reviews saying these were a true size but others saying they are a bit small.Mine are true to size so I could have gone 1/2 a size smaller but they’re still comfortable to wear even if they do look a bit like water skis.

Great trainers BUT NOT stayed waterproof..
Perfect fit and very xccomfortable, excellent runners with a* grip BUT ...3 MONTHS OLD AND LEAKING ALREADY, useless only walking in wet grass and got 1 soaking wet foot, for the price that's pretty poor! The non GTX 5 stars, but these are supposed to be waterproof and aren't anywhere near it so useless

Narrow
Nice pair of walking shoes. However they are too narrow to wear comfortably. This pair showed signs of a previous( very short term)owner with dry grass on the soles. They were otherwise pristine and had they fitted I would have kept them.

Comfortable with plenty of grip
I purchased these shoes for walking / running through the countryside during the winter months. They provided good grip, were comfortable and kept my feet reasonably dry. All things considered I am happy with the shoes.
