This text and commentary is a complete treatise that has the ability to elevate a student's standard of life.I am fortunate to keep studying this text as part of a study group where the group synergy keeps me on the path.The depth one can gain in every repetition of this book by Adi Sankara is really something that makes one wonder why it is called a prakarana grantha. No wonder Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda chose this as one of two books for future generations to benefit from through professional video recordings of his discourses.

To think that a 30 year old around 2,000 years back had such insights is truly amazing.It is a long treatise on Advaitha - with a lot of repetitions of the One message - but something truly enjoyable.For those who do not know Sanskrit - like me it should be motivation enough to learn the language as I could feel the brilliant poetry at work by Adi Sankara

This book changed my life.. I figured out who I am.. Best studied with a guru or someone who has experience in the subject, but you can launch yourself ahead and just start reading and see what happens to.. If you really want to know who you are, and read this with an open mind, it will change your life :) <3

I read this book some time ago. It's a particularly accessible translation, particularly for those of us coming from a western background.Great for folks new to Advaita Vedanta and those who were born and raised in it.

I bought the ebook. Then later I decided to buy the physical book. The physical book is by a different author altogether even though I'm the product description it has Swami Chinmayananda linked and listed. I do not recommend the physical book! I had to contact customer care twice to get my full refund/credit. I asked Amazon to de-link the physical book from the digital. They have yet to do so.

A must read

Swami Chinmayananda needs no endorsement. In this book, he has given, as usual, a simple to understand commentary on the Vivekchudamani. Adisankaracharya himself has tried to explain things in simple terms, but Swamiji, by first providing the translation of each of the slokas, and then giving a commentary on them, which are enriched by easy to understand examples, makes the task of the reader easy. But, in my view, you do need a bit of basic awareness, if not necessarily the understanding of various Vedantic concepts, to have a better appreciation. In my humble opinion, a study of Drig Drishya Vivek, followed by Aparokshanubhuti, would help you to appreciate this better.
