I've heard of other products becoming powder after a year.** A: It is really hard to say how long it will last. However, keep in mind that it is raw clay that is not being fired or changed in any way but other than letting the water evaporate out of it. It will not last forever, but it could last anywhere from a few weeks to several years. If you want something permanent, consider a ceramic clay that is fired in a kiln. **Q: Does the clay actually dry hard? As in solid and rock steady, or softer and crumbly.** A: Hard. Not hard as a rock; certainly breakable but not soft and not crumbly. It was easy to use and suitable for my six-year-old kid. I’m excited to try and make a few little dishes and jewelry holders with it. I also have low fire clay and access to a kiln, but it’s not always easy to transport bone dry pieces that we make from home. This should be a nice alternative. I plan to paint with acrylic paint and then seal with resin. It was not that messy, I would suggest working on a surface that is easy to wipe down after or laying down messy mats.
