Good things come in small packages
Wow. This book may be very thin in size but wow it is amazing how it’s so addictive to read and get lost into the information. I am impressed how good this book is and the fact it doesn’t ramble on about vampires but proceeds in giving you the facts and true history. Love it.

Very enjoyable read
Very enjoyable read. A lot of great information. Well written. Nothing new but still worth a read for anyone interested in Glad Tepes. A good place to start ones education in this historical person.

Short Book about Vlad the Impaler
This is a very short book, but nether the less very interesting. It is very repetitive but I think the author has researched the subject well. Its a good book if you want to learn its a great way to learn Vlad's history very quickly

A Great read.
This book was a great short read. I am not the greatest of readers, but when reading this book it felt as if the author was in the room with me having a chat and a cup of tea. It was very factual and also contained the 'myths and ledgens' of Vlad the impaler.

All you need to know
I like these short biographies, you read about the subject and if you then become more interested you can always buy a more in-depth biography. This one like the others I’ve read is interesting and I have become much more aware of Vlad. It’s an enjoyable read.

Easy to read
This book was concise and easy to read. It covered the subject well, without much padding. An enjoyable and enlightening read that actually covered factual details of Vlad's life. It also puts the barbaric treatments that he committed within the context of the times, when such barbaric acts were not so unusual. Recommended.

Very short
Very expensive for what you actually get which is a booklet.
B**.
Simplistic overview of Vlad Țepeş' life.
Here we have a perfectly adequate introduction to the life and times of Vlad "the impaler" Țepeş. It races through the crucial events of his life without a pause, and it's all a bit "A lead to B and then C happened". If you're looking for an in-depth account, there are numerous far better works out there. But, as a freebie on kindle, what's there to complain about? And it may even "kindle" enough interest for the student to seek out more scholarly works (ouch!)

Surprisingly Good!
I read a lot of history. I’ve seen tons of titles in this series on Amazon, but I’ve always avoided them like the plague. They are very short (~40 pages) and are geared to a very general audience. As a result, I didn’t think they were “real” books or that they would be worth reading.I was wrong! Basically, they are very much like the YA history books that are aimed at high schoolers. I LOVE those books. Unless I am really interested in a topic, YA history books are almost always all I need to get a basic understanding of an issue. That said, the books in the Hourly History series and its various siblings (e.g., a Life from Beginning to End) are probably most useful for biographies and “small” events - like the Boston Massacre. Bigger topics can get relatively short shift. This book on Vlad the Impaler is typical. The writing is good, although it is occasionally repetitive and sometimes confusing. You also can’t always be 100% sure of its facts (for instance, it says Vlad killed another noble in single combat. I’m not sure that actually happened). BUT and this is a big but, it is a great primer on Vlad the Impaler! Medieval Eastern European history is really complex and confusing. This book does a very good job of developing a coherent story and making sense of Vlad’s place in the context of the time. There’s not a huge amount of detail, but there is certainly enough for most people to get a good feeling for Vlad. There’s also a surprisingly good section on vampirism (which is not really about Vlad, but you knew it would be included). I highly recommend this book! But take it for what it is and don't expect it to be the be-all-end-all book about Vlad the Impaler.

Bom resumo
Apesar da vida de Vlad Tepes não compreender um cenário histórico amplo, foi intensa o suficiente para gravar seu nome na história. Concisa e bem organizada, a obra é uma excelente introdução.

Vlad Dracula, Hero or Monster?
This took a couple of hours to finish and was obviously a good read. Keeping the spoilers at bay, this is a documentation of Vlad Dracula III the Voivode of Wallachia, also an inspiration for the Bram Stoker's notorious Character, Count Dracula. The book serves the readers with crisp informations about the events of the life of Vlad III. The Ruler is known to be the cruelest of cruel beings ever walked the earth and is also titled as Vlad The Impaler, or Impaler Lord, for his most gruesome method of punishing his foes. Well, we already know that, but when you keep on reading the book, you'll get to know why he was written as the most villainous figure and why he is still a hero in his country's folklore. We, as people believe facts which are easy and fun to read, and think very less about the authenticity of the facts, this book tries to debunk that, and does so perfectly I believe. If one is tolerant of the religious issues happened in the past then this read is more for the ladies and gents who prefer to read history.Being a Bram Stoker fan and played numerous games on vampires I have always been curious about Vlad Dracula, the character which inspired such a genre. I believe this book puts His image to justice. Is he a Hero? do you still consider him a Villain? that is up to you, but I believe he is a friend, who kept his word, and fought for his countrymen. Rest is upto the readers to decide. Now who should read this book? Not everyone is fond of Historical events, so here is a list for it, you should definitely try this if you area person interested in horror stories,a person interested in history and medieval era,a person who wants a quick read while in a commute for two hours,a person who wants to read different topics regardless of genre.I hope this review was free of spoilers and would draw your mind to this Book.Thank you.

Great Piece of Historical History
There is surprisingly not much a person can find on the life and times of this prince. I have read some of the books on the Romanian Prince Vlad the Impaler, but I must say this is the best book I've read on the historical background of the Romainian Knight and his time period. It's well written and extremely informative.A MUST READ for anyone wanting to research the character, his land and the time period.Stewart Geworsky
