The product fit well and worked as described but the metal chain changed color within 2 weeks

Great price
Theses collars are getting very expensive at the big box pet supply chains. This is the same quality at a fair and reasonable price.

Sturdy but more Chain than desired.
This is a very sturdy collar but since I needed to adjust it to the smallest fitting (therefore overlapping as much of the fabric as possible) I didn’t care for the appearance. The result was too much chain in proportion to collar. It would have a better look on a dog with a neck size needing the maximum extension of the collar purchased.

unexpectedly well made
At the price point I wasn't expecting much which is ok since mine is a young dog with no discipline issues. The collar is perfect. Fabric is sturdy, pliable yet thick enough to rest nicely within the thick plush coat of my dog without causing damage. Chain link cinch is just the right size, not too bulky or clunky. Great everyday collar.

Nice, but there are "better" (perhaps subjective) options- Read on...
I have two sight hounds- a 40 pound male whippet and a 12 pound female Italian Greyhound. Due to their breed geometry (skulls narrower than their necks), conventional collars slip right off. Martingale's are a necessity, so I tried the Guardian Gear Martingale- kind of a half-check collar. Were it not for me having tried and fallen in love with the Rogz martingale-style collar, identical in concept to this Guardian Gear version, my rating would likely be one star higher. Don't misinterpret my position-- The GG Martingale is a nice piece. Manufacturing and material quality are good- clean stitching, no discernible defects in nylon webbing or any of the buckles, chain, rings, or clips. However, the Rogz version (also available through Amazon- https://www.amazon.com/Rogz-Utility-Medium-Half-Check-Reflective/dp/B002DXAYQM/ref=pd_lpo_199_lp_t_4?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=ZMMZPV4TMSYXRRW7QQN9 ) is, in this user's opinion, superior in a number of ways. It is made from much heavier nylon webbing with heavier thread for stitching. Rogz incorporates reflective stitching along the edges of the webbing, too- stitching that REALLY grabs light (truly remarkable intensity from such small filament). The chain and rings are heavier as well. The entire collar is heavier duty AND slightly heavier- period, so that may be a drawback to the Rogz for some furry folks with more delicate builds or sensitive skin. I tried this GG collar as a replacement for a now 4-year old Rogz Martingale that was just looking tired- dirty and a bit faded. It is an acceptable "second" and I believe most purchasers who are not familiar with heavier-duty, higher-quality, versions will be quite pleased.NOTE: The attached picture was included just to show sight hound proportions, not to model the GG collar which is obviously NOT on either dog at time of photo.

Great pet selection
Couldn't buy this locally this is just what I needed for the new member of the family it looks great and is a kinder way to train him instead of the full collar seen in most pet shops.

Semi-choke collar
The dog loves it - which is more important! - because most of the time it's loose. Definitely a good buy.

DO NOT BUY. Potential Harmful chemicals on the chain.
Do not buy this product. It looks very nice but very poor quality. Shortly after a month, Medal chain start to fade in color and became black. And there is a black stain on my dog’s fur and skin. I am quite concerned what they used to make the medal chain shinny. Seller Is trying to make the product looked appealing by adding potential harmful chemicals on it? I was glad my dog was white in color otherwise i will never find out!

Collar loosens while using
Bought this for my dog a while ago but she only recently grew into it. Was using it fine initially and had it adjusted. My husband noticed that it had gotten looser so we readjusted it again. Was walking my dog by myself yesterday morning and the collar had come completely loose (the black adjusting plastic doesn’t hold the adjustment in place) and my dog’s head just slipped out of the collar and she ran across the street and almost got hit by a car. Not sure if mine is just defective or if it’s “normal” cause we’ve used other martingale collars before and it DOES NOT come loose even after use.
