I use this safety device on metal roofs to prevent myself from sliding off while working. This works well, I like that it opens so I can swap from one rope to another without dragging the entire rope through it. It’s not easy to open but shouldn’t be, I want it to stay closed until I can go through the process of opening it.

I purchased this item for the hands free movement feature but I have been unable to figure out how to go down at an angle (about a 20 degree slope) with out holding the ring. Perhaps it only works well in vertical situations. Would like to know more but have been unable to figure out a company website so may look to return soon.
