Pentel® EnerGel RTX Pens, 1.0 mm, Bold Point, Black Ink, Pack Of 3

The Pentel Energel bold (1.0) pens are THE smoothest pens available anywhere. They make Pilot G2s look cheap by comparison. Their ink also dries up much faster on paper compared to most other gel pens and they are also extremely reliable. I have used several Pentel Energels in all sizes and have still to come across one that skipped even a little or failed to work on the first stroke.The 0.7 (regular width) energels are sold locally in India, they use the identical refills that the RTX branded pens (which are not sold locally and need to be imported) use, but come in a simple plastic body. The same writing experience but in a simpler plastic body. They can be bought for a really cheap price and I encourage anyone who wants an extremely smooth writing experience to try them out.This review is for the bold 1.0 mm Energels which are more expensive since they need to be imported. Bold pens always tend to be smoother than their thinner counterparts and this is the Rolls Royce of gel pens, you need to use it to realize just how amazingly smooth a gel pen can be. I hope Pentel realizes that India is a massive market and that Indians value quality products as much as anyone else and bring their entire range of pens here. For now, if you don't want to pay a premium price for imported pens I urge you to try their Indian (0.7) series - they come in several vibrant colors too. This brand has permanently ended my longstanding hunt for the best gel pen.

Surprisingly these are an excellent smooth writing pen and easily exceed any other pens I have used over the last several years.. The blue ink bold1.0 is my favorite but then that's just me.. So far I have not encountered any leakage or skipping whatsoever.. I will definitely be buying more.

I love these pens. They are easy to hold and easy to write with. I like the fine line. Have had some problems with the pen coming apart and won't stay together after a period of time. I have had to tape them together then to secure them.

Excellent. Worth the extra expense.

I am a lover of a good pen! I will blatantly, unapologetically steal them from friends, family, and strangers alike if it's a good one! But that has changed! I have given away all of my ill-gotten gains, because I cannot bring myself to use any other pen but this one. It HAS to be this specific one! Pentel EnerGel RTX Retractable, Metal tip, Bold 1.0mm, in black! I will chase a person down if they "accidentally" (yeah right!) walk off with it! Glides on paper like no pen I've used before! What does it say about me that I'm THIS crazy about a pen? Kinda sad, huh? But seriously, GREAT PEN!!

The EnerGel Bold is the smoothest out of the three I own from the RTX products. I’ve experienced no smearing/smudging, which honestly surprised me a big for how much ink this lets loose with minimal pressure.Out of the three, I’d say the bold and medium are tied for varying reasons. If I wanted to ensure minimal bleed through, I’d go with the medium. If I wanted a smooth, heavier experience (great for my eyesight too, admittedly) I’d go for the bold.As someone who was OBSESSED with the 0.5, this has completely changed my outlook on which to choose for writing.Excuse my handwriting—I have posted a comparison (which I had been looking for when making my decision before just shrugging and going for it)
