These are great! It took me a couple times to find ...
I took a chance changing from my old gloves to these, and it paid off. These are great! It took me a couple times to find the fastest way to get them on and off (off is still sometimes tricky! haha) I wet my hands and put water in the gloves, and my hands go in easily. I was a little concerned because I can't spread my thumb as far in these as I could in my other gloves, but the resistance provided by these more than makes up for a slightly-reduced spread. I also like that they are silicone so don't have to be hung to dry. Highly recommend these. I use for swimming laps and for aquatic workouts, both aerobic and strength training.Update 4/2/15 - From the base of my palm right at the wrist to the tip of my middle finger is about 7 1/4". With my thumb closed in tight to my palm, the widest part of my hand is roughly 4". I have the large gloves. I haven't used baby powder, but I put my hand in the water, and I fill the glove with water. They work fine for me. If your hand is too much bigger than that, you will probably have some problems. The first glove is easy to put on. The second is a bit harder, obviously, since I have to put it on using my other "finned" hand :) Taking off isn't bad, either, although sometimes it goes partway inside-out if I'm impatient.I am very glad the gloves don't stretch. That very fixed fit makes them excellent for muscle toning, and they prevent me from overworking my thumb. My last pair of gloves had more stretch, and it messed with my carpal tunnel. Not as much as hand weights but still some. These are perfect.

Nice but tighter than last pair
This is my second pair of these. I love the first pair but they finally ripped. This pair is too tight, same size. I thought they might loosen up with age, but now that this second pair is getting old, they are still tight. I am a woman with broad hands with long thin fingers (to match my size 10 feet) and use the mediums. I usually wear a size 7 (or 6 1/2) disposable glove. They are hard to get on but a little hand lotion helps. I have arthritis in my hands and these help keep my hands warm in the pool and give me a good upper body workout in water aerobics. I used to wear the wet suit material gloves but I like these much better.

Great gloves
Great gloves! I've tried three different kinds of swim gloves and these are my favorite. I read the other reviews about how tight they are so I ordered the large (where I normally would have ordered a medium). They are snug and at first a little tricky to get on but after using them a few times, you get used to doing it and it becomes much easier. They allow for great individual finger mobility which is great for adjusting goggles. I would buy these again when/if these wear out.

Not worth it
These thick gloves are very hard to get on. Less than 2 months after I purchased these a small rip developed in one glove then slowly spread to a palm sized rip rendering the glove useless. I replaced these with the fabric H20 Wear brand gloves for water aerobics and they are much more comfortable, easier to get on and not subject to ripping as these gloves did.

No size XL
My hand size is L/XL. But the largest size offered by this seller is L. The gloves fit snuggly to my hands, a bit too tight actually although not uncomfortable. They are soft and I think would be durable too. Size XL should probably fit better and work more effectively due to larger hand areas, if they have it. The aspects of the gloves that matter to me and their respective points are:1. Getting them on and off relatively easily (3/5).2. Fits snugly so not too much water getting into them (5/5).3. Increase of certain amount of water resistance for wearing them (3/5).4. Texture feels good and gloves last long (4/5).5. Competitive price (3/5).I would give overall 4 stars if there is size XL.

Great gloves for swimming
Great gloves for swimming, however, they should be available in larger size. It takes additional time to put on and off.

Excellent Pool Workout Tool Particularly If You Have Physical Limitations
Love these! Am recovering from some major injuries from a car accident and have been using these to do a "home program" of in pool physical therapy exercises. These water gloves give just enough resistance for a challenge but not so much that you overdo- though you'll definitely feel the effects of use.Easy to use - remember to put on and take off while IN the water. I've recommended to quite a few people - particularly older folks who've asked about them when they see me working out with these in the pool. These are sturdy, nice weight, not too tight. On my second pair - only because I lost the first ones after having for several years.I expect if these were used for actual "swimming" they would be equally helpful.
