Epic of Gilgamesh

Thank you sending this excellent research book.

I thought I had this, but when I went to pull it out for my oldest to read, it wasn't there. Kindle saves the day!

I found this copy of the book very informative and had more than one tablet to share. Really good for students!

I wanted Nancy Sandars translation for The Epic of Gilamesh on Kindle. I found it on amazon but When I clicked the downloaded on Kindle button, this was the version that was downloaded. I don't know if it is a mistake or a bait and switch but i was deeply disappointed. This translation is not easily accessible or interesting for an introductory text.

Great classic

The font changes, strange and uneven spacing, and a generally chaotic print layout makes it difficult to read the story

It is very well written and gives the reader a good introduktion to this epic of time in the Middle East.

i first read about the discovery of the epic of Gilgamesh in a book called Gods Graves and Scholars by C. W. Ceram (a cracking read on the adventures of the early archaeologists). The Gilgamesh epic is essentially the story of the Biblical flood from a different perspective. i do like these tales from the ancient world

How can one not love this book?

It makes Adam & Eve sound sort of simple-minded. Here is a tale with broad stroakes and many twists.

It is excellent that not only are novels being place on Kindle, but also precious works on non-fiction, The Epic of Gilgamesh being a rare classic.

I am not impressed by this book.
