After reading reviews for similar items, I chose this. I am a private pilot and needed red light back up torch in case cockpit lights fail at night. Hopefully I will never have to use it!!. I needed a robust, lightweight, effective torch with no gimmicks with good battery life. This torch has two static brightnesses as well as a strobe, (which I am unlikely to use). It has a domed outer lens which slides in and out to give a zoom effect from fairly small to pretty wide. In the bright static mode, it illuminates 40 meters -bottom of my garden, in the dimmed static mode, you can easily read cockpit instruments and a chart at 300mm without being blinded. Battery change is easy, and I preferred the single AA size to others requiring 3 AAA batteries that had to be put in certain ways round in other torches, or expensive CR batteries. Can't comment on battery life yet, too soon, but I have two other white torches, similar construction , 9 LED on a AA battery which I use regularly and get a long battery life out of, so I am hopeful. It also has a mounting clip which with a bit of thought can be mounted on a lanyard or static on my headphones. All in all, well impressed with it, delivery was quick & well packaged

Purchased these as I needed a red light for stargazing so as to not ruin my night vision. They come in basic packaging, little box with some bubble wrap, it's adequate. They're not "heavy" but they have a sturdy feel when you pick them up that I did not expect just by looking at them, they seem well made.The light is perfectly fine for stargazing, to be honest I think the dim version is plentiful If you're in a dark sky area because even if you're using a red light, if it's too bright it can still affect your vision. I put an AA battery into them, I think the upgraded 14500 would be far too bright and also heats up the torch significantly.Can't comment on battery life as of yet.

My wife and I have been very pleased with these torches, which we use for walking at night. The sliding focus/zoom adjustment is great for spotlighting something to take a closer look. Easily operated with one hand. The dim setting saves batteries and is plenty bright enough much of the time.Takes regular battery. Small and light.And, of course, the red colour means that when you turn it off you still have your night vision.

First order came. One of the 2 torches didn’t work at all. Replacements were duly sent. They worked initially when tested but when you are out in the cold and need it to work- there is a bad connection in there somewhere- maybe in the switch- it doesn’t always switch on. I suggest maybe pay a bit more and get better quality?

A very useful item , fantastic for wildlife watching in my garden. I would definitely recommend purchasing them for night vision.

Bought for badger watching. Badgers had a lie-in. However found a Roedeer in a field on the way home, we illuminated him and he couldn't see the light!I have used with duracell AA, and with 3.5v li ion battery. Not muxh difference. After dark you don't need that much light so its good. Switch makes quit a loud click.

Compact little device, gives enough light for night-time wildlife watching. Good value.

Was soll ich sagen. Für den Preis nicht absolut tolles erwarte. Für den ganz Nahbereich ausreichend aber mehr wie 2m ist damit nicht drinn. Je nach Anwendungsbereich für den Preis aber ok.

Lampes non encombrantes et pratiques pour évoluer et s'occuper du matériel astronomique lors d'une nuit d'observations astronomiques sans déranger autrui. Par contre, pour regarder ses cartes lors de visions d'objets très faibles, la lumière même réduite reste encore trop forte.
