Great little camera body - simple to use with very good image quality
I was on the lookout for a small, lightweight micro 4/3 camera to replace my aging lumix gx85 which I used as a backup camera and as a smaller body to take anywhere when I don't need or want to carry lots of heavy gear around. The choice was between this and the lumix gx9 and when the Oly came up at a really good price I took the plunge and bought my first Olympus body. For my needs the dumbed down menus are perfect as I used them once to set the camera up how I wanted and will probably never use them again which is great because Olympus' menu system is not know for being easy to learn and navigate. The AP setting on the mode dial is also a great idea as it allows me to use some of Olympus' more advanced features like live composite without having to dive into the menus. I used this for a firework display recently and it made it easy to capture the light trails from the fireworks - see attached photos. The built in image stabilisation also works well and I've been able to take photos in low light without pushing the iso too high. Image quality is also good and seems to be on par with all the other 20Mp m4/3rds cameras including the more expensive high end models. JPEGs are nice straight out of the camera but I tend to shoot raw which allows me to get the best out of the m43 sensor using dxo photolab 4 (tip: deep prime noise processing in that software can hold on to a lot of details while cleaning noise when you do need to use iso settings of 3200 or greater) It is a great little camera body with easy to use menus and controls, very good image quality and lots of advanced features. It's in my camera bag when I travel or go out on a day's shooting as a backup to my main camera and it goes out with me when I don't want to lug a lot of gear around if I'm going to an event or a family gathering or what have you. Paired up with a nice bright prime lens it's great for indoor or low light photography, and with a kit lens or a macro it's perfect to carry with me when out shooting wildlife where it gets used to shoot everything I can't do with the main camera.

New to digital SLR and getting started with Olympus OMD E-M10 Mark IV
Great camera. Recommend M. ZUIKO 14-150 lens for everyday and 75-300 for wildlife, both great lenses. Don't be tempted by the, 12-200 which I returned under warrenty due to sticky zoom operation (other similar reviews). Olympus image share app is great and you can transfer to phone wirelessly on the road even with camera off. Spare battery useful if out all day shooting. Choose genuine Olympus accessories - expensive but do the job (returned 2 lens hoods whch didn't fit properly before getting genuine.) Hope this is useful.

The Olympus OM-D M10 Mark 1V is an excellent camera.
I bought this Olympus OM -DE E-M10 Mark 1V camera to replace my old OM-D. The new camera is amazing! It has more mps that the old one and more control over exposers etc. The video is also more superior to to old one too! A good buy at a good price. thanks JD

Good price for a lot of camera.
Arrived 2 days ago, it is easy to operate and comfortable in the hand. Navigating the menu is easy too. I have not yet put it through is paces, but the images I have taken are good. I'm not a beginner nor seasoned photographer, but would be a good camera either level.

Astonishingly good
I was struggling with my Nikon DSLR - it's an unimpeachably great camera, but it's just a lump to carry around sometimes. Compacts are okay. and phones have their place but picture quality, even from a high end phone, really doesn't stand up to scrutiny once you are beyond a tablet or phone screen. So I was looking for an "in-between" and thought I'd try the OM-D mirrorless four-thirds system. Great choice: the really important bit, the image quality, is outstanding and remarkably close my to that of my Nikon, even on a 43" monitor. Blown up detail is excellent, the exposures are very good in program mode, and there is a stupendous range of potential adjustment and scope for in-camera monkeying about - far more than I will ever need or use. It is very light, perhaps a third of the Nikon, and whilst obviously not of the same build quality, is sturdy enough for sensible use. The compact size - almost too small for my big hands, but not quite - and the weight combined make a huge difference in terms of carryabillty. And a camera you want to carry is a good camera. With the 14-42 lens on board, it will sit comfortably in a coat pocket whilst powered down. The digital viewfinder is acceptably bright, and very good indeed in the right light. The rear screen is also pretty good, and between them they avoid the kind of blind shooting you end up doing with lots of compacts. The complete package strikes a great balance between portability and useability, and has a nice retro feel to the design, reminding me fondly of my first decent camera, an old time Olympus OM10 35mm machine. I got a 40-150mm zoom (roughly 80-300 DSLR equivalent) and the 14-42mm noted above. The bigger zoom is absurdly light, with a reasonable F4-F5.6 minimum, which is competitive for a non-pro lens (expensive faster pro versions are available for a predictably high price). Image quality is very good, zooming is quick and effective, and I can really find little to complain about. The 14-42 is tiny - ridiculously small when powered down, and feels like a compact camera lens in that regard. The zoom action is electronic rather than manual, but is reasonably smooth and easy enough to get used to. Image quality is excellent so far. Again, I can't find anything to mither about. With either lens attached, focusing is prompt and so far reliable, although changing the metering/focus from full area down to partial helped with that. What can I pick holes in? - The controls are quite fiddly and buttons are small (you may need glasses!), but once you get the hang of it there are some simpler ways to get what you want - The AE lock button is poorly placed and really tricky to operate with large hands - the button is too close to the shutter button, too small and recessed, and slopes away, making it quite awkward for index finger and thumb operation. - As noted above, the camera is bordering on being too small overall for fat fingers, but for me just gets away with it. - The construction is mostly plastic, understandably at the price point, and it's not weather proof. That's a compromise for portability, but you would need to bear that in mind. - Powering up is slow, and moving from view mode to shooting mode is a bit plodding too. It doesn't have the instant zip of a DSLR. It's not a camera for a pap or a sports photographer. Overall, I think this is a superlative camera. I am beyond pleasantly surprised by the image quality, I am over the moon with it. It will never feel as a solid and satisfying as the click and clunk of a Nikon DSLR, but the truth is that the OM-D makes it far more likely that I will leave the building with a camera in my hand. That's a total win.

A nail complaint
I have one complaint about this camera only: the battery and disc compartment. Removing the disc without breaking my thumb nail is impossible. Surely the manufacturers of Olympus could have thought of a more convenient arrangement.

Super soddisfatta !!!!
