Solid box, replace receptacle if using to charge an electric vehicle.
I do not trust receptacle in this box. Right away you see that the set screws (clamps) for the wires are not up to the job. And the receptacle and hole are smaller than the Bryant Electric 9450FR 50 Amp 125/250V NEMA 14-50R Flush Straight Blade Receptacle that most people are recommending. But an hour with a dremel will remedy that. Then drill two holes to mount the Bryant to the mounting plate. Several complaints about space in the box but I did not find that any more challenging than cramming 6/3 plus ground into any junction box. I like the removable no-drill access panels not only because well, no drill, but because you can use them as inspection ports to make sure that you’re wire connections are solid because that last push before screwing it down is severe. Also, I wired this before mounting it, and that can be tricky because you technically can’t get to the top screw. But if this is not intuitive, that top screw acts like a hanger screw. So set that screw first, and dry fit hanging this box on the screw. Screw the screw in to the perfect depth so there is tension on it during your dry fit. Then remove the box and wire it. Then hang it from the placed hanging screw. Once hung, shoot in the two bottom mounting screws with a long driver bit.

Just What I Needed For Car Charging
This product is very solid. I like the fact that it comes with several separate metal side pieces that can be easily screwed it to adapt to different diameters of metal conduit. I installed this for the purpose of attaching an electric car charger to charge at 240 vac, 50 amps. Although it did not come with any screws to attach to the wall, that wasn't a big deal since I had some wall screws handy. The inside electrical connections are very high quality. The door is lockable although I won't need that feature inside my garage. I expect it will come in handy some day for use with an RV or other 240 volt equipment if needed. I'm really happy with this unit. The building inspector also commented that it is one of the nicest ones he has seen.

Requires a punch out tool or improvisation
The conduit punch outs are not designed for easy removal. You are supposed to use a special punch out tool. I ended up having to drill it and grind it to fit a 3/4 threaded conduit fitting. Typical of Chinese construction, the green wire was too short to work in box comfortably. I removed it and used a longer piece of wire. The green wire was pretty cheesy feeling too. The mounting holes were too far apart to mount to a 4x4 so I ended up having to drill an extra hole. This is the first rv outlet I have installed but it would have been nice if the lid was made so it could lock into the open position. The metal box was heavy duty.

Good Product
Good sturdy box, easy install and does a great job for the camper when it's in the driveway at home. Good product especially for the price.

No more circuit breakers tripping.
Bought this for an RV that requires 50amp. Works great. However I would suggest a qualified electrician install it. 50 amp is nothing to mess with but my electrician said it was no problem to install it. He gave it a thumbs up.

Knockouts need to be Drilled or a punch tool. Socket is UL listed.
I saw several complaints about this box concerning the knockouts and the socket. The socket I received has UL stamp and looks like a Leviton ( since I bought one expecting the included socket to be horrible from the reviews ) I have this on a 30 AMP 220 breaker with #10 AWG, it would clearly handle bigger wire but that is what I needed.Included with my enclosure are two installation notes indicating the necessity of a knockout tool. See Attached. I used a step drill bit. This box is very hard and was a little tough to drill. << That in my opinion is a good thing >> I am a homeowner not an electrician but, I can say the metal is stronger than my service entrance box. I am not sure how some people, in other comments, bent the box without a 20lb hammer.

Good value!
The box is a great design and I like all the access covers without the hassle of using knockouts! Wiring was a bit cramped in the back but it worked out great. Now I can have guests stay in my RV!
