Best investment I have made. There is a lot of birthdays in our families so we always try to make it cute and decorate. I have been wanting to buy one of these because I am the decorator and I saw this as a way of making our parties more festive. It is sturdy enough once you set it up, but be aware that it can be flimsy. But for the price I think it’s pretty good. The size of it also is good, you can adapt it to whatever you need. It is certainly a good addition to party planning.

I’ve used it for photos I take of my kid and have used it for a birthday backdrop and it’s been great with the adjustable height and width. I do wish the stands had a little more weight to them.

There is a considerable amount of competition for this type of photographic accessory. It stands up fairly well in comparison and I am satisfied with it, after some modifications I made.I have material from bolt in a fabric store, so I have little need for available backdrop panels. However, a proper stand makes setup much easier than any stopgap means. Should have got this much sooner!The main advantage of having a backdrop like this-- rather than the T-bar sort-- is that both the backdrop panel and some items to be photographed can be hung from the same upper bar. Focus and height of the subject will be constant.For more stability and durability, there should be washers between the top bar and the butterfly nuts. I added fender washers with a 1/4" opening. If this unit were to remain set up for extended periods of time, I woukd add a lockwasher as well.I also had to get larger spring clips because the provded ones will not encircle the top bar and leave enough tension to hold any sort of backdrop panel at all. In fact, they leave a gap of 1/8" to 3/16". Until procured, I am left using the one proper backdrop panel with a sewn "tunnel" for the top bar, or else, a set of draperies. Another modification is to secure the tripod legs, at least with tape, in order to keep the system stable-- many other backdrops have a knob screw to tighten the height of the tripod legs..I appreciate that the top bar is a consistent diameter all the way across and thick enough that there is no sagging in the center. This point makes it strange that the spring clips are too small. Some other models have a tapered top bar and fit well with backdrop panels in the center, but not near the ends.So, for general purposes, it serves most of my purposes, after these afore-mentioned modifications.You may or may not choose to use it as is, modify it or get a model with better features (at a higher price).Both of my parents and some others have said it takes good information to make a good decision.
