Lakeland Stoneware Tagine 1.2L

The packaging was excellent, but the Tagine arrived with a manufacturing fault. Lakeland immediately replaced it - I have always found their customer service excellent.Have only used once, and am very pleased with it, cooks nicely and looks good (although my son was nonplussed with the plain colours, expecting an intricate middle eastern design!)With reference to some of the other reviews here, this is not a tagine that you can use on the hob and I wonder whether some of those that cracked had been used in this way. Some reviews also recommend to season the tagine. However, as this model is fully glazed, even on the bottom, I cannot see how this is necessary, as glazing renders ceramic waterproof. What benefit would therefore arise from a 6 hour soak?

Item arrived very well packaged and with fast delivery to boot. Love the colours to, really makes a statement when sat on your kitchen counter.Being a novice tagine cooker I looked up some recipes and went after it like a Berber chef in the souk. Lamb shanks done in a spicy Moroccan sauce were amazing. Possibly the best lamb I have ever eaten and I would have happily sat in a north African restaurant and paid good money for the dish.The design means you jut stick it in the oven and leave it to work its wonders. Meat was so moist and tender and it's also easy to wash once done.

On the third time of using, it cracked. No longer usable. I expected more. Though was good to look at.

Purchased as a gift to complement the tagine cook book. This tagine is lightweight, easy to clean and makes wonderful food. Really happy and the colourful design cheers up the kitchen between uses.

As this was a gift from me, I have not yet seen the tagine, but I understand that it is lovely and I am sure it will be able to withstand some higher temperatures than the last one. He likes it so much, he keeps it on display in the kitchen!

Brilliant. Love it, good size so holds a good amount of food to feed family. Very pleased with this purchase.

These are really good and when full to the brim there was enough food for 5 servings. Remember to season it before use - the instructions will either be absent or unclear. If you use it straight away it will crack. Look up online how to season it properly, it involves soaking it in water for 6 hours, then oiling it, and heating it slowly then letting it cool down (but don't take my word for it, look it up).I was surprised at this price that they didn't include a plate so you can use it on the hob. It is a nice thing to have and to serve out of on your table when you have guests

Love the colours and looks, when not in use is on display. Large enough for 4 people at least. Suggest you check oven dimensions as is about 24cms tall with lid and maybe too big for smaller ovens, or may meed shelves to be juggled.
