Very sharp, well balanced and has a good weight to them. Bought the package deal and saved $$$. Handles may be a little beefy for some but they have a very solid feel to them.

I'm a seasoned home cook. When I go to cut a tomato I expect the knife to gently be able to cut the skin of the tomato like a sharp razor. I should not have to do a few strokes of sawing through the skin. I returned the knife set after using them for a few days. The blades on both knives were initially very, very sharp. The first two days of using there were no issues in cutting tomatoes, bell peppers, eggplants, or any other vegetable that has a waxy type of skin. They did not stay sharp enough to keep. I took care as to not put them in the dishwasher, washed them gently by hand, and dried them immediately.
