As I read sections of this book my mind seemed to naturally play scenes form Braveheart, LOL! This is a good read that puts the events, the people and the places in a true historical prospective. I'm not sure why but the realization William Wallace lived in Scotland in the 1200s (1207-1305) had never clicked until I read this book. It goes a long way toward dispelling some who believe Wallace's role was a minor one in the Scottish Freedom Revolution.....he was indeed an important player and leader of the time. The cruelty and brutality of life and war in those days is hard for people today with Geniva Conventions and modern morality to imagine. If you are a fan of William Wallace or a history buff, you will enjoy this book.

I chose this book because I'm a history buff, and it is well written and concise , it will be a good read for any who appreciates history.

Not too bad of a book if you're looking for a fast read. It seamed to cover more of the common knowledge stuff of William Wallace's life and not much more.

Great for the history buff

Very interesting to read and it was not the same story as the film about him. The book was dry in spots but history books usually are when discussing facts.

William Wallace is one of those figures I had known so little of until recently. Sad. A captivating man in a captivating era. Outlander fans should really read this.

Overall I like this book, but there were a couple of times I felt the book repeated itself.Biggest complain I have is a large section was about how the execution of William Wallace was more brutal in real life than in the Braveheart movie.I remember the brutal scene in Braveheart. Does it sound very likely that a scene where Mel Gibson they would play down a violent scene?

This book is short and sweet. Although there are editing errors throughout, and the format of the kindle version is pretty rudimentary (e.g. limited spacing between paragraphs), I liked it. Fairly well written and full of relevant facts. If you want to learn more about the real William Wallace this book would be a good start.

Very fascinating and intriguing book about our history. It is only a short read but it's full of all the necessary information for anyone that has an interest in Wallace.
