Roswell: The Ultimate Cold Case

Government has a long history of lying
This book is riveting. While it has several literary flaws, the information revealed in it far outweighs those minor obstacles. After you read it, you'll ask yourself, "Who's lying here?" The answer is NOT the authors and NOT the hundreds of eyewitnesses they interviewed over the past four decades. You'll read a detailed account of the UFO crashes at Roswell, New Mexico in July 1947. Then Carey and Schmitt uncover the pattern of bullying, threatening, and bribing of the military personnel involved in the cleanup and of the common citizens who witnessed the debris. Many even handled the mystery metal personally.Nobody's sure if the "suits" who showed up in dusty Roswell after the crash were FBI, CIA, or military intelligence, but along with MPs, they engaged in a systematic campaign to terrorize American citizens for the rest of their lives. All because of a weather balloon? That was the Army's "correction" of their original news release: "It was not a flying saucer after all, just a weather balloon." Years later, they claimed it was a top secret spy apparatus named Project Mogul. Then they followed that with a preposterous tale about wooden crash dummies that was so...well, you've got to read it for yourself. Were alien bodies recovered at Roswell? Read the evidence and decide for yourself. Why would witnesses make deathbed confessions about what they saw there? And as a climax, the authors print verbatim the posthumous sworn affidavit of Walter Haut, a decorated war hero who blows the top off what really happened in the New Mexico desert. If you were disgusted by the military's "report" on UAPs (unidentified aerial phenomena) in June 2021, if you think the government is hiding something we all should know, get Roswell: The Ultimate Cold Case. This is one heckuva read!

Roswell and Witnesses.
Everybody has probably heard of Roswell, it's synonymous with the crash of something in the New Mexico desert on July 1947.The controversy surrounds exactly what it was that crashed.I think the authors have thoroughly debunked the official story that it was a weather balloon in any form. Who would send a semi trailer to haul a weather balloon? Or the secrecy and massive cover- up with it's changing cover stories?I didn't care for the format of the book. What I read and the amount of witness statements is a different matter.... it's difficult to argue with people that were there and their statements. The most compelling witnesses for me were the many military .On the subject of bodies from "outer space" being recovered, on one hand it seems far-fetched.One can imagine that that possibility in addition to the crash and the materials involved would be a fantastic and understandable motivation for the lies and cover-up. Eliminating the possibility of widespread public panic makes sense. The authors did a good job researching and collecting statements. As far as proving their case or theory, they did that in this book!

The Most Powerful Book on the Original Motherlode UFO Event in the USA
Admittedly, I come at Roswell-The Ultimate Cold Case from a special perspective. I have spent over 30 years studying the UFO Mystery. Also, I am the investigator and retired police sergeant who befriended June Crain, who was one of the many highly credible corroborating witnesses to the Roswell UFO Crash, the initial deception of the public, and the ongoing concealment of the most important revelation of all - that We are not alone. Don Schmitt and Tom Carey are classic detectives. They follow every lead, interview and re-interview until the bigger picture becomes clear. If you care at all about the real history of the UFO Mystery, read this book. Ask yourself why decorated veterans upon reaching the end of their life would fabricate a story about contact with non-humans who piloted a craft powered by unknown technology.I have been at this grand Mystery long enough that I am now witnessing new generations asking the same basic questions: Why has there been so much lying, cover-up and intimidation to keep a "weather balloon" secret? This book would do even more good for those who are new to the field because lately the overall slant of the media has been to make the UFO/UAP Question seem to have just started in 2004 with the Tic-Tac sighting off the CA coast. Along with that it seems that ONLY Luis Elizondo can lead us to the Truth. Wrong - the history of UFOs, and in particular, the real Roswell story is rich and fascinating.Read this book and think about what the witnesses went through to reach that moment when they decided to disclose what they know.

Taked a differnt approach to the story
I got several different titles by this author, there's not much difference between them, just a little 'new" material added. The biggest difference is that it's presented something like a case in court and the evidence would mean a "win" verdict for the pro UFO believers.

Excellent presentation of the evidence!
Roswell is real! There can no longer be any doubt! Why? It happened and those who witnessed the events and reported them were telling the absolute truth. By piecing together all the statements made by those directly and indirectly involved, the weather balloon alibi begins losing air at an astonishing rate!

From the guy who wrote the forward...
Will this year or two see the government reveal a new story about Roswell? Perhaps the truth, again. Same truth that was revealed in the original press release? (Even if that press release was designed to focus, like a good magician who knows how to use misdirection to focus attention 75 miles toward the west while something much closer was being recovered much closer directly north of town.). This is an exciting book for what may prove to be the most exciting time in all of human history.

It repeats the facts of the crash and because this was not written in narrative form.
The final few chapters are very interesting -they include the testimonies of the eyewitnesses and I came away with the impression that yes, Roswell happened!I had a very, very Close Encounter of the 1st kind myself back in 1957/1958 in Chicago. I had 1-hour of missing time, but can't recall any of it. Therefore, I don't need further proof but for those of you who do, the final chapters of this book is for you!
