unikWomen Traditional Puebla Mexican Embroidered Blouse

I’ve been looking for embroidered tops for a while And hadn’t been able to find any so I thought I’d check on Amazon I bought one just to see how it was made and how it fit and to see what would happen if I washed it. Even though this is machine embroidery, it’s still a good quality and not too stiff. I did Tear off all of the surplus interfacing backing the embroidery work and that helped reduce some of the stiffness so I would definitely recommend doing that. I machine washed the top on gentle with warm water and hung it to dry, and have washed it several times since then and it still looks as good as new and didn’t shrink. I normally wear a medium and I bought a medium and it fit me fine without being either too large or too small. I wear overalls a lot and it even looks cute with overalls. Because I liked it so much I bought it in a few other colors as well. This is just an aside, but I’m pretty sure I saw Erin Napier in an episode of Hometown or one of their spin-off shows wearing this same shirt!

This is not hand embroidered, but the upshot is that there are no loose threads, snagging, etc. and everything is done well. I ordered the coral colour and when I first washed in cold water, there was a slight, pink tinge to the water. I had to really look hard, though. The blouse did shrink slightly, maybe less than a half inch, but not nearly what I expected. It still fits, but I ordered a little bit large. Of course, it wrinkles. It's cotton! How wonderful!

Cute top. Flattering. Just wished the cotton was softer. A bit rigid.
