AutoCAD X for Dummies makes me feel dumb!
When I got this book I thought WOW this is huge! It is heavy, it has 760 pages and covers everything from A to Z about AutoCAD. It definitely is an All-In-One Reference on this unbelievable software program. And, there are 10 books in this book. There are chapters that explain AutoCAD Basics, 2D Drafting, Annotating Drawings, LT (Light) Differences, 3D Modeling, Advanced Drafting, Publishing Your Drawings, Collaboration (sharing with others and building on the original within groups), How You Can Customize AutoCAD For You, and more.Of course, they have the Icons throughout the book as they have in all their publications that make it easier to find what you need by scanning down the margins. What I really like, since I interface with others that don't have AutoCAD, is being able to work within the DWF files and send to my friends with Adobe Illustrator that can use these drawings in their computers. (WIsh they had a MacIntosh version of this program but that is asking for the moon, I guess. I use this with Parallels so it works on my Mac just fine. I find more and more cities are moving to Macs so this might change given time.All-In-All it is a wonderfully clear reference to just about anything I need to know about AutoCAD.

I've never used auto CAD before purchasing this book. I now have a decent basic understanding of the program.

very helpful, the step by step walk thru is the best way to learn. I will share this with anyone needing a helpful reference .
I will share with all of the people needing a helpful reference for AutoCad 2009 LT. The nine seperate books are very concise in their subject and content.

Absolute BRILL for Dummies and Over... :)
Fantastic book!I wouldn't consider myself as an absolute dummy with AutoCAD. I studied it back in past at uny on my Construction Management course and used it quite a lot afterwards. Used it fairly easily in a course of a few years now, but somehow somewhat have always struggled with some features and options, probably due to the fact that the course program was too quick and very brief itself.Well, I really hit the wall when I've embarked on one of my recent projects with some 3D design involved in it. That put me very back to drawing board, so I had to seek for more advise and obviously a 3D CAD related information. This is where I've decided to get this book as I'm still using my very first CAD2009 and haven't yet explored most of its features. But I should be honest, I didn't even get that far yet, because I still enjoying as well as recovering that part of the 2D CAD which happened to be missing for me all these years. Now about the book. Guys, just go for it if you don't feel confident enough or struggling to put things right. This book will take you on its step-by-step easy to read/understand and so well directed journey from the very first page. You can even jump form the subject you learn to another chapter which seems more common for your studying now, then come back as you'd be finding author's advise to get on to such or such chapter for complete coverage of the subject.Honestly, great work author! No regrets on buying and well worth of money spent on it.
