Eloquently Written Perspective on the (Sometimes) Horrifying Truths of Parenthood
I LOVE CLINT EDWARDS. I think that his writing over the years has grown to not only display the nuances of being an adult watching [his] children go through experiences that we, as adults, have had the privilege of already experiencing, but also the mixture of horror and blessing we feel as parents/caretakers of said youths. I always find myself a little bit misty-eyed at some of the more sentimental bits, as the catharsis delivered here is (as always) quite delicious *chef's kiss*. My kids aren't quite as old as Clint's, my oldest being at his youngest's age, but this book serves as a peek into the struggles to come, and the dignity for which I (and my paternal co-parent) will need to survive them. Not to mention the consistent message of looking at the bright side of things every once in a while. Excellent work as always!

Honesty, humility, and hilarity. Solid buy!
I’ve followed Clint for years on social media and often my husband and I giggle together when reading his posts. We purchased his previous books and this one I bought for some well-deserved “down-time” reading over Christmas. Clint makes mistakes lots of parents make while trying to raise successful humans, but he finds humility and understanding through his writing about them, and this is the real gem of this book. Yes, it’s damn funny and I have literally laughed out loud while reading his books. But the lightbulb moments he finds as he recalls his blunders are true gifts to parents reading along. Everyone makes mistakes. Clint learns from them and shares his clarity. Highly recommend.

Buy this book for your husband!
I won a copy an early of Fatherish through the authors Instagram page. I gave it to my husband, and I don't think I've ever seen him laugh so hard at a book. To be honest, I think I've seen him read a handful of books during our 10 year marriage. He read it in a few days, and then told me he'd never felt so good about being a dad. Then he offered to get our kids to bed. I don't know exactly what happened, but it was the sweetest thing I've ever seen, and I decided to buy copies of this book for all the dads in my family.

Meh..
Writing style didn’t appeal to me. I tried but I couldn’t finish it. It’s possible that because of my toddler, my own life is a little too interesting right now.

Good stories, bad publishing.
Almost didn’t read past the intro chapter after getting annoyed with a ridiculous number of bolded excerpts that are completely unnecessary and distracting

Doesn’t resonate with every dad
I bought this for my boyfriend for Father’s Day. We both thought it was going to be good. But he doesn’t relate to the religious notes or even the stories themselves. Just different kind of men. Not for everyone.

Good read! Buy this book
Just got the book yesterday and I’m already halfway through! The more I read the better it gets! Very relatable, excited to pass it on to my husband for a good read as well.
