Matjes Herring Tibits in Spiced Sauce - Skansen - 6 oz - 2 pack

I love matjes herring, but this one contained 65% salt! Won’t order it again, unless they change it.

I am of Swedish descent and haven't had this herring in many years, brings me back to my aunts who emigrated here from Sweden and always had this herring, farmers' cheese, and fresh limpa.

Need to find a local source at aBaltic Deli or somewhere. Came not cold but not spoiled - Great tasting herring!

Love, love the taste, a bit too much, as I ate one jar in about half an hour, umm and then the other one an hour later. However, it is somewhat expensive for such a small amount. That said, will definitely purchase again.

The spiced herring was delicious - just as I remember it.I took a chance on getting sick because it was warn when it was delivered, and who knows how long it was unrefrigerated in transit and the ice-paks all were melted, but I ate it anyway. Price was waaaay expensive. It was a treat, a luxury that I couldn't resist. But i would not spend that much again (approx $14 per very small jar, $28 for two), The price should be around $5 or $6 each, but sadly it's unavailable where we live.

I do not care for this herring at all. I love matjes herring, but I guess I need to find it packed only in oil, so you can taste the saltiness of the herring, without all the sauce. This brand has way too much clove taste for me. Maybe others will like it; but I was very disappointed.

I need to return this expensive product that was intended as a gift for my 101 year old Auntie. It came with melted ice packs so I don't want to give this to her now. Food safety fail.
