S.O.L. Survive Outdoors Longer Slim Rescue Howler Whistle (2-Count), Orange, Model:AD0010

I recently purchased this loud whistle to enhance safety during my outdoor adventures especially when out mountain biking. The whistles are slim, lightweight, and come in bright orange, making them highly visible and easy to carry. Their durable plastic construction and pea-less design ensure reliable performance in various weather conditions. In standard use, these whistles produce a loud, piercing sound that can be heard over considerable distances, making them ideal for emergency signaling. To test their noise output, I attached one to my drone and found that at low altitudes (20-50 feet), the whistle produced a clear, loud sound that was easily discernible over the drone’s motor noise. At higher altitudes (50-100 feet), the sound remained audible, though less intense. Moderate drone speeds yielded the best performance, while high speeds slightly reduced the effectiveness due to wind interference. Overall, the whistles performed exceptionally well, proving to be a powerful and reliable tool for outdoor enthusiasts. A whistle is a must-have for bikers, hikers, campers, and adventurers. I highly recommend this one for its robust performance and thoughtful design.

I bought several different "survival" whistles and decided I liked this one best for backpacking, camping, etc. I like each of my kids to carry a whistle when hiking/camping, so they can alert me if they get into trouble, and of course my wife and I carry them too. Unlike some whistles, with these you can blow harder or softer to make the sound louder or quieter. This is good because you can adjust the loudness to your surroundings, and you don't have to have strong lungs to make a reasonably loud sound -- as when you're a child or are injured. The sound has a nicely pitched tone: it will carry, but is not too shrill. It is clear and very loud when you blow hard. It sounds great when you make quick, powerful blasts on it. These are thin, small, light, sturdy and have no moving parts. Water won't damage them or impair their function.

I like that this whistle fits easily in your pocket or can be hung from a lanyard. Having a pair is handy. The whistle itself seems about as loud as an "old-fashioned" whistle. For me, that is loud enough.

BUY these!!! If you intend on hiking and/or camping and have loved ones with you...for pete's sake, buy enough to hand one to each member of your group! I have severe asthma and decided carrying a whistle would be a smarter choice than trying to yell for help...should I need assistance. I barely had to blow into one of these tiny whistles and it almost blew my ear drums out! They certainly howled alright! lol! My husband went into the valley below us and up the next hill...about a distance of 2 1/2 miles from our house. I blew the whistle...he said he heard it plain as day...great to know! I'm definately buying more of these great rescue whistles for my loved ones! Plus, they pack great in my backpack and also in my back-up survival kit. I'm probably sounding like I'm gushing...and I am! These are the BEST!! Plus, they came right at the est. arrival time stated by seller. Bright orange, so if you drop it...can find it easily. They didn't come with a lanyard, but I'm putting one on each whistle to carry around my neck. Rescue workers would be able to find you if you had one of these!

I am REALLY impressed with these whistles. The ones I purchased were yellow, which I preferred because they seemed to be more visible when dropped at night. As soon as I got them, of course I had to be that guy randomly blowing whistles in the woods to test them out. These things scream like you wouldn't believe! To be short and to the point.. here it is. . These whistles have hardly any weight to them at all. . Though they are tiny and light, it would take quite a bit of strength to break them. . They scream loud enough to make your own ears ring.. and no doubt they would get one's attention. . They don't use balls, so no worry of them freezing or not functioning in cold climates. . Perfect for survival packs, EDC, self defense, hikers.. the list is endless. I would have never believed I could be this excited about a couple dollar whistle, but I am truly impressed. I got this double pack just in case my young child and I ever got split up while hiking, and they most definitely keep my protective father instincts at east knowing they are in our packs.

These are small, light, and LOUD! Perfect for throwing into an emergency bag.

A whistle is sumthing that really evryone should carry..really..but like EVRYTHING else there are so, so many to choose from..I watch so many videos on u-tube on bushcrafting & such & wen sumthing is mentioned, straight to Amazon I go to check it out..well I heard this whistle brand mentioned several times so I checked it out..it has th correct “pitches” for an emergency whistle..so simple & light weight & orange so u can actually find it should u drop it..I couldn’t believe it was so reasonably priced, for 2..so I bought them..I carry 1 on me at all times, th other in a backpack..remember, 2 is 1, 1 is none..we hav a tendency to put off th lil things we need over th bigger things we want..I feel much better now..it’s done..& didn’t cost much..🤗
