Great taste
Virginia peanuts are the best. They are the largest peanut. Have more flavor than other varieties. My opiniIn is that these have more flavor than Runner, Spanish, or Valencia.I tolerate the salt level well. At the bottom of the can there will be too much salt and peanut powder, so I use a colander to strain the nuts so I can get every last peanut. As far as Virginia peanuts go, these are the best

Very fresh tasting peanuts
Great tasting peanuts - easily some of the best I have ever eaten. They are very fresh tasting. I wish they were a little more spicy but I'm going to try some of the other flavors. Highly recommended.

Excellent Taste; A Little Too Crunchy For My Tastes
My wife likes peanuts. Me … not something I think about. So, I was surprised when she began ordering little cans of, I guess Planters peanuts, the Spanish kind with the little red skins everywhere, how much I liked them. They are a little salty and slightly sweet. So, when she wanted to get some Virginia Peanuts, I thought, ‘’Why not?”. But, I like salt and pepper, so I bought these. One thing I’ll give them is that they taste great, once you crunch them up. The salt and pepper ratio is just right for me. And, they are nice and big without any of those annoying little red skins to flake off an get everywhere. These are excellent Virginia Peanuts, if Virginia Peanuts are your things … I have some friends who won’t eat anything EXCEPT Virginia Peanuts, mind you. Now, however, maybe it is because these are the first Virginia Peanuts I’ve had, or maybe it’s because these aren’t quite cooked enough. But, I find them a bit too crunchy. They do NOT taste undercooked, but they are just extremely crunchy. And, whether it is a feature of Virginia Peanuts (versus Spanish Peanuts) that these peanuts aren’t as ‘sweet’ as Spanish Peanuts, or whether they don’t taste as sweet as Spanish Peanuts because this batch wasn’t cooked as long, I don’t know.Still, I liked them, and I may buy them again, but first I may buy some other brands of Virginia Peanuts to see if they are different.

Gave me indigestion; distinct aftertaste I didn't like
I like hot/spicy peanuts, and usually buy them -- when I can find them -- at a Mexican market. I decided to give this brand a try because they seemed to be a good value for the price. In short, neither my wife nor I liked them. They have an initial hot/spicy flavor to them. They're not true "habanero" hot, which would probably be near-unbearable to most. But they do have a slightly hotter than jalapeno initial bite to them, which is quite pleasant. However, they also have, what to me, seems to be an unpalatable additional aftertaste. They just have something there that I don't like. It's hard to describe, but to me it's just an unpleasant lingering je ne sais quoi that I don't like. But for me, the worst part was the burning sensation and indigestion that lingered for more than 30 minutes in my entire esophageal tract. Granted, I have GERD (AKA reflux disease), so that probably had something to do with it as well. However, I usually have no issues eating run-of-the-mill "spicy" foods, such as chili, "regular" hot sauce or other highly seasoned ethnic foods. Or even commercial grade Mexican spicy peanuts that I just love. But I ate these on three separate occasions and every single time I got really bad indigestion and at least mild discomfort in my esophagus from these. Maybe it was a function of that "extra" spice I noted in the flavoring mix that just didn't appeal to me. Who knows. But I didn't eat anything else when I had these. In any case, I will emphasize that these symptoms applied to me, and only me. Maybe others won't have an issue with these peanuts and will enjoy the taste. But I will add that my wife did not like the flavor either. To end on a positive note: They are very crunchy and good quality and size. So give them a try if you don't have a sensitive stomach like I do.I did not attempt to return them and just threw them in the trash (I just noticed they don't offer "free returns" anyway) because my dislike of the flavor and the symptoms I got were a "subjective" issue. I.e. There's really nothing wrong with them, just not to my liking and it seemed like the right thing to do vs. returning them.

The perfect peanut
I do not often buy peanuts but when I do this is the one to get. The flavor and texture are as peanuts should be. Worth the extra money.

Mighty Surge of Flavor-- Not So Much Now...
I love these things. I'm serious. The peanuts are good, but it's the seasoning, the Habanero Heat, that makes them basically perfect. They're hot enough to seize your attention but stop short of the 'endurance test' level heat that turns a snack into more of a novelty than something you actually enjoy eating. The heat builds as you go, mingling wonderfully with the rich peanut oil. I have to make myself stop eating them.My local shop stopped carrying them. The fools. I'll buy from Amazon because I do not want to be without them.EDIT: As noticed by at least one other reviewer, the recipe has changed. The heat and flavor have been dramatically reduced from what I raved about in my review above. These peanuts are not bad now, but I am sorry to say that they are a shadow of the unique and delicious treat they used to be.

For the $81.43 I expected a much larger container. Not very good value!
Not very good value. I have purchased other high quality Virginia Peanuts for half the price. Is it possible that the listed price is not correct?
