MÜHLE VIVO Black Resin 5-Blade Razor

This is an excellent razor. It has been said that this razor has too much plastic. Everything seems to be double chromed metal. The only plastic is, of course, is the disposable razor blade. The handle is made out of wood not plastic. And while the razor is not heavily weighted, it’s not lightweight either like a disposable razor. My only complaint, and it’s not really a complaint because I knew about this, is the handle is a bit short. But to get a longer handle, I would’ve paid about 60 more dollars.

First impression. The handle is heavier than the original Gillette handle with weighting at the back end away from the blade. The handle length is the same as the original handle. First use, the handle seemed slippery, but this was not a reoccurring problem. The real problem was how to hold it. First try was to hold with ring finger in the indent near the lower end of the handle, with thumb and first finger residing where they were. This had insufficient pressure on the blade. Might be fine for new blade each shave, but not for general use. Next try was placing small finger in the indent at lower end of handle. Had more pressure on the blade but less than with the original handle. The handle felt very small where the thumb and first finger fell. The original handle was much more comfortable to use. This is a product that might be best sold in local specialty store with trained sales staff, rather than in a mail order house. Returned the handle.

It is just a handle. Little pricey. Nice weight, uses fusion 5 blades.

Materials feel comfortable in hand and weight is good.

I prefer the stock the proglide handle. If you're hopping for a weighted handle, this is not that. Does not actually feel particularly hight quality. Also the stock proglide rotates horizontally. I ordered the art-of-shaving handle (from their website!) for cheaper, hopefully that one is more weighted.

Muhle è una garanzia, soprattutto la serie Vivo che consiglio anche per il rapporto prezzo/qualità. Rasoio molto bello, dà l’impressione di solidità e robustezza. Soddisfatto.

Der Rasierhobel ist sehr gut verarbeitet und liegt gut in der Hand. Der Griff könnte jedoch etwas länger sein.
