A Kitchen Essential and a Work of Art
This Lodge 6-Quart Enameled Cast Iron Dutch Oven is an absolute dream come true. From the moment I unboxed it, I was impressed by the stunning blue color and the solid, high-quality feel. It's not just a cooking pot; it's a beautiful piece of cookware that I'm proud to display on my stove. The performance is even more impressive than its looks. The enameled cast iron heats so evenly, and it's perfect for everything from slow-cooked stews and roasts to baking no-knead bread. The food comes out tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked every single time. Clean-up is also a breeze thanks to the smooth enamel interior—no more scrubbing and seasoning like with traditional cast iron. This Dutch oven is incredibly versatile, durable, and an absolute joy to use. It's a true kitchen workhorse and an investment I'm so glad I made.

Lodge quality at a great price.
Lodge quality at a very good price. This compares very favorably with much more expensive enameled cast iron kettles we own. It heats evenly (as expected) and we have noted that when using all aluminum vessel at the same time on same size burner the water boiled much more quickly in the Lodge pan. It is a great size for frequent use for 2-6 people depending on the dish being prepared. Perfect in so many ways!

A workhorse that never disappoints.
I've owned my Lodge enamel 6-qt dutch oven for almost three years now, and I can't think of a more reliable item I cook with. Like my other Lodge products, it never lets me down. This dutch oven is totally versatile in the oven or on the stove - searing, baking, braising, etc. - it does them all to perfection. It retains heat beautifully. After almost three years of regular use (at least four or five days a week) the enamel has not chipped or degraded in any way. In fact, other than the bottom interior being a slight shade darker than the sides the dutch oven looks practically new.

Outstanding Dutch Oven.
Love it-and at a fraction of the cost of the equivalent Cruesette dutch oven. Easy to clean, great for slow cooking.A little disappointed it isn't made in the USA like my other Cabot cast iron cookware.

Quality with convenience
This is a fantastic dutch oven! The Lodge name is synonymous with quality cast iron products. We own a whole fleet of Lodge cast iron cookware and have always been pleased with the way food is cooked. Now we venture into enameled cast iron and look forward to the same quality with much lower cleanup and maintenance.

Good pot- But misleading description
Pot itself works well (using it for sourdough), however I was disappointed in misleading description of product. I received the product and after opening the Amazon box, the internal box had a "Made in China" printed largely on the side. I was confused, and double checked the Amazon product that I ordered and right under the Top Highlights section it says "MADE IN USA & FAMILY-OWNED: Lodge has been a family-owned business since 1896, crafting high-quality cookware that’s built to last. Proudly made in the USA, our products are perfect for generations of cooking." I was under the impression based on that, that the product was Made in the USA. Digging a little deeper under the Additional Details tab further down, the last sentence says "Made in China". This seems to be some false advertising, the Made in USA is at the top and a big bullet point while the Made in China is more hidden further down in the additional details dropdown.

Eight Months So Far, and So Far, So Good
This review is for the Lodge 6 Quart Enameled Cast Iron Dutch Oven with Lid – Dual Handles – Oven Safe up to 500°.THIS IS AN UPDATE TO MY INITIAL IMPRESSIONS REVIEW BELOWI have been using this Lodge enameled cast iron Dutch oven for eight months now. I have made many dishes with it, including pot roast, birria, Hungarian goulash, and chili. All came out perfect and delicious. Best of all, it still looks brand new. No staining and not a hint of rust.I'm extremely pleased. So much so that I have upped this review from four stars to five starsHighly Recommended.(Initial Review Below)This is an "initial impressions" review based on my first use of this item. I plan to update this review in a few months after more experience using this item.First, as a basis for comparison, I should note that I own several pieces of French-made enameled cast iron cookware from Staub, Le Creuset and Made In, as well as some Chinese-made pieces from lesser known brands. This includes three enameled cast iron Dutch ovens in smaller sizes from Staub and Le Creuset. I bought the oldest one of these maybe 25 years ago, and it still looks and works like brand new.I also recently purchased, used, reviewed - and returned - a highly-rated Chinese-made 6 quart enameled cast iron Dutch oven from another manufacturer, which sells here at Amazon for a similar price to this one. That one was absolutely gorgeous out of the box. But it rusted and stained like crazy with ONE use. Ridiculous. Thus, I returned it.This one looked very nice out of the box, but not as "pretty" as the one I returned. The enamel seems a bit thin - especially as compared to my French-made Staub and Le Creuset enameled cast iron Dutch ovens. So I have some concerns about long term durability. On the other hand, a similar-capacity French-made enameled cast iron Dutch oven from Staub or Le Creuset would have cost at least three times as much as this Chinese-made item from Lodge. And Lodge is an old, established, company with a hard-earned and well-deserved reputation for quality value-priced cookware. All that notwithstanding, in its first use the performance of this Dutch oven was outstanding! I slow-cooked a pot of chili with beans and sun-dried tomatoes for several hours on the stove top and it turned out perfect and delicious. The thermal capacity of this beast is truly impressive.Meanwhile, not a speck of rust . . . which is as it should be. Cleanup was not exactly a breeze, but it wasn't really very hard either. In the end, it looked like it had never been used. Hours cooking a full pot of chili with tomatoes presents quite a challenge to an enameled cast iron Dutch oven - especially one with a white or cream colored interior. However this one stood up to that challenge and met it.Anyway, so far I am very pleased with this Lodge enameled cast iron Dutch oven. Since this is only an initial impression, and I do have some concerns about the durability of the enamel, at this point I'm only giving it four stars. However I plan to come back here later this year after having used it more extensively and update this review. At that point, I might upgrade it to five stars. But . . . so far, so good!
