Perfect for recess
This hand-held whistle is awesome! Fitst of all, it’s germ-free. Second, it works great. One of the settings is super loud. It’s perfect for outdoor recess. Our school playground area is huge but everyone can hear this whistle! The other two settings are not as loud and can probably be even used inside. I turn it off when not in use.I’ve had it for a couple of months and haven’t had to replace batteries yet.I was sceptical when purchasing it. It’s so cheap; I thought it would break in no time. It’s sctually pretty sturdy. I would highly recommend it.

Does not sound much like a whistle
I ordered this in case there is a need for me to sports officiate while wearing a mask (due to coronavirus rules/restrictions). There are three tones from which you can select; none of which sound much like a whistle. This will do in a pinch, but I'm going to also order a Fox 40 electronic whistle to see if that is a better sound. Fox 40 is the "standard" in officiating whistles, so maybe their electronic version will be a better choice.I do think this whistle would work well for playground activity, in gym class, etc. I just don't think it's a good sound for high school officials to use when officiating a game ... unless it's your only choice.

Not loud enough for referee work
The Windsor came up as a "top rated" electronic whistle for referees. I don't know what referee rated this but it is in no way loud enough.I referee volleyball, and in this COVID world, we are being asked to wear masks -- hard to blow a whistle with a mask on. So moving to electronic whistles. I typically use Acme Tornados, or Fox 40s on the stand. Loud enough to hurt my ears without hearing protection. Loud enough for a gym full of screaming teenage girls to hear. When the referee site I saw recommended the Windsor, I bought one, especially as the Fox 40s were sold out. I got it and tested it at home with my wife. Stood outdoors, nobody and no noise around. She clearly heard the mouth-blown whistle, but had a hard time hearing the Windsor electronic whistle, even when pointed directly at her. This was without a gym full of cheering players.A quick comparison of ratings. The Windsor is rated at 105db, the Fox 40 at 125dB. If I recall my high school physics, the extra 20 dB translates to 100 times the power. Yeah, I know that is not exact, and I cannot recall how sound is measured, but it serves to show that the Fox 40 is a lot louder. My association is going to place a bulk order for Fox 40s, and I will wait for that to come in. I am returning the Windsor -- thank you, Amazon Prime, for such an easy return process. For people using this as a teacher or dog training or whatever, this may be loud enough. It is not for my work as a referee.

Good while it lasts.
Died after one year. Switch on the side isn't easy to use, but it's loud and good to have the options. As a high school soccer coach, you sometimes need a different tone to not conflict with other practices.perhaps I should have taken the batteries out over the summer, but it was dead today when I try to use it again for the preseason conditioning.

Very useful at an elementary/middle school.
So far I really like it. I've been using it to coach and referee games for our kids at an elementary/middle school. The kids are obsessed with it every time I use it, because the whistle sounds almost identical to our fire alarms. (So thus they all want to press the button and scare their friends. Kid logic.)As others have said, this thing is loud and will hurt someone's ears if you point it at them from too close. For this reason I tend to point it downwards or straight upwards when using it, and the kids hear it just fine. I enjoy having the three different tones and I'm glad I did. We have student referees who use regular whistles, so I can change the tone of the electric whistle and get everyone's attention if I need it.Overall this whistle is very nice. Haven't had any issues with the button sticking as some reviewers have complained about.

Works great
Great whistle. I am a teacher in an orchestra setting and I use this to get their attention when they are talking and fooling around on their instruments. It is saving my voice. I like how it has three settings with different kinds of chirps and volume levels. It's very effective. I have it hanging on my key chain T-REIGN Hunting XD Retractable Gear Tether, Carabiner, 36" Kevlar Cord, 14 oz. Retraction, Cord Lock, Green Polycarbonate Case, Universal Attachment and it is easily accessible. (I don't like to wear lanyards.) Inexpensive, yet quality made.

Lasted 7 months and battery out quickly and some glitches.
Teacher use during pe three times a week to signal go and finish. It only last 7 months. New battery did not make it work. Runs out of battery easily. Also there are some glitches. Need to tap it a couple times on my hand for it to work or have it positioned a certain way some times. But I do enjoy the three different tones. Wish it also came in three different levels. Also contacted support to get it fixed or at least ask how to get it fixed and they did not reply via email. Poor support. Better off getting a whistle you can blow and does not require batteries. Really disappointed in their inadequate customer service.

but it's a great signal for attention
I use this in my classroom every day. I put it in my pocket to mute, but it's a great signal for attention. Then I use it outside as a whistle during recess. I wish I had found this tool earlier!

I bought this for my son as he coaches hockey ...
I bought this for my son as he coaches hockey. He likes the choice of tone especially when umpiring tournaments. He does not use it for the primary age sides as the sound is very pricing when inside the sports hall.

Will be great for hygienic gym class and creating future demand for the hearing aid industry
Took a while to arrive, but hey, Covid. Of course, as soon as I got it, my local school board announed gym class won't be happening, but it'll still be good for when all this is over. No more kindergarteners grabbing the whistle while I'm talking to another kid and blowing on it (that's always been gross). Works very well, seems sturdy enough to handle being lugged around in my clipboard case. VERY loud. So loud that I have to muffle the sound by placing my other hand over the end to avoid hurting my own ears. I might end up taping a cotton ball or something to the speaker end, otherwise I'll have to worry about my students getting tinnitus too. Until then, this is a two-handed device. Still though, it's a battery operated whistle that won't spew germs around at my students at high speeds. We're good :).

Love it!
I love these types of whistles so much. As a teacher is works really well when on outdoor supervision in winter, or teaching gym. The 3 different tones are also quite useful when teaching multiple groups at once. My favourite part about it is that it is a hand whistle so multiple people can use it (unlike regular whistles). The batteries also last a long time
