Pretty fans will make some lovely spring cards for all occasions. The dies cut beautifully first pass through my Big Shot cutter. I was a little confused at first that they didn’t have the embossed design when I cut them. I don’t have any dies that work this way so it took a bit of playing around to find the right sandwich to use to get a good deep embossed pattern and figure out how to get them to come out right.Experimentation with my Big Shot has now led me to discover that doing the first pass using the rubber embossing mat with the thin plate using my magnetic base plate for everything; followed by using the regular cutting plates to do the actual cut after embossing worked best on my Big Shot. With just two passes they were embossed and cut beautifully. I haven’t redone the ones that I didn’t get “right” yet, but will at some point soon when I decide to use them on a card.These are gorgeous detailed dies and cut super well with normal cutting plates. The cuts were clean and precise.The designs are classically feminine and will make lovely birthday, Mother’s day, Weddings, showers, or all occasion cards like “Thank you” and “Hello”. I can see using them in junk journals too with flowers they will make lovely pages. They could also dress up pockets or envelopes.I’m thrilled with these dies and happy at how well they cut and embossed. Gorgeous. I’m happy to discover another die designer that I wasn’t aware of before now.

The media could not be loaded. This is a nice set! The dies are all nicely etched and cut perfectly with one pass. The embossing is very detailed. The detail on the large fan is particularly nice, however, I think the price might be a bit high.Anna Griffin products generally carry a higher price tag, but I think this might be over the top even for them. Still, the dies are made from quality materials, deeply etched, and easy to craft.I deducted one star because I don't think this is the best value for the money!

I did not understand what these really were. I thought they were cut out already and I was going to use them on valentines.I still am not sure how one is supposed to use them. I can’t really rate them...

These dies are quite large and cut cleanly. The pictures of what can be made are adequate, but the dies have to go through the machine twice to make most of them...cut and then emboss. Some of the shapes will require cutting apart to make the pictured designs. The knot and tassels dies also cut well. There is no "backing" shape, so a few of the example cards were either cut by hand or filled in from waste of another color. These are not as versatile as I was hoping, but there is nothing wrong with any of the dies I received.

This is an absolutely beautiful die set. They cut like butter. The dies themselves are of a super quality as I didn't experience any warping (even with repeated runs through my Sizzix Fold-away machine). No issues with intricacies of the cuts, no fighting with getting any of the dies to cut... one run through and the entire thing cut beautifully.For my machine though (Sizzix Fold-away), I could not get these to emboss and cut at that same time. After cutting the in the first pass, with the typical Sizzix sandwich for thin dies... I had to run the die cut through a second time with an embossing pad in place of one of the cutting plates. I used the Spellbinders rubber embossing pad (it's brown) and this worked absolutely wonderfully and I got a gorgeous emboss with one pass through.These are real stunners of dies once embossed. And even more so when cut from a card stock with different core color (like Tim Holtz's Kraft stock). I then sand the top surface color off from some of the embossed areas... oh so fun and beautiful! And a little ink here and there for a little more dimension and wowzers... just fantastic.Just to touch on the quality again... and durability. The Sizzix Fold-away machine that I have, has a tendency of warping thin dies due to the pressure it applies. Not these dies! I ran these through many times, trying them on different types and thicknesses of paper.... Never did I see these dies start to warp.Definitely a great set and worth the addition to your die collection and great value!

We do not have a machine to make the best use of these dies, but got them to use creatively with hand made design. The dies are strong and very cleanly cut in great detail. I can see where they would work wonderfully in the proper machines. These French Fan designs will make great cards for an adult daughter who loves the use of fans in fashion.We will be using them as is and in some uses, painting them. That would admittedly be a very expensive way to use the dies with any frequency, but they will be excellent for one time use. I will also be using them as templates for use with a laser engraver and the clarity and sharpness of the cutouts will work very well in that application.

I love using intricate dies ... my Cricut is great, but it's so hard on blades to do intricate cuts, and the cuts for tiny spaces can be very messy. I have always loved fans, so finding this set was so exciting! I was prepared to have to go back and forth a couple of times. But Anna Griffin dies seem to be a cut above (pun intended) most dies. They cut like a dream!I made samples, but when I checked other reviews before posting my pics, I realized I am in the presence of the (reviewing) the great! Check out all the reviews; I learned several techniques from them. I will add one suggestion: these are terrific with Stardream Metallic cardstock. I think there are other brands, but the only other brand I am familiar with tanked with Covid. Anyway, these are thick, sturdy cardstocks, they used to be called "mica" cardstock years ago, and really do seem a bit like Mica. It works beautifully for these fans.
