Broke first outing.
Pulling drag from reel, pole straight not bent and top foot of pole broke off right at eyelet. Almost like a manufacturing defect.

Next level spinning tackle rod
I have fished my entire life, and I have never owned such a nice piece of equipment when it comes to fishing. Unreal price for such a well made rod, I'm already thinking about getting a second one for my brother.

Do not buy! Not ultralight
Bought 2 from separate buyers. And neither one sent an ultra light. Description is incorrect and you are wasting your money.

Their lifetime warranty is BS.
A friend of mine bought me a Moonshine Rod as a gift for helping him build his house. The first one, and I am not kidding, had the reel seat installed backwards. So after his embarrassing experience with this and a long wait we get the return rod. I took it out of the steel tube and inspected it to see if the replacement reel seat was correct, and it was. I slid it back into the case and days later we went fishing. We get to the river and I take out the rod and string it up. Before walking up stream I took the fly that was 6" to 8" from the fly hook seat and pulled it down to hook it. That movement broke ten inches of the tip off. See the picture. Now we get to their warranty. If I send this rod back to them I have to pay $65.00 plus shipping. On their site they send you to a site that talks about rod breakage. They say 98% of broken rods are because of damage caused by the owner. I hope my friend didn't have to pay $65.00 for the reversed reel seat. That wasn't caused by him. But my question is why should I pay $65.00 for what was a fault in their blank? This rod never made a cast. I have had some of the best custom rods ever made and had lifetime warranties even for damage I caused. Johnny Hooker Rods Portland Oregon. The warranty was for his Lifetime. Great guy that is now fishing in the heavens. I am waiting for a response from Moonshine Rods. So am I in the 2% that didn't cause that to break? Also will I have to pay the $65.00 to get it fixed? How about the shipping? As for now after reading everything on their site I am NOT IMPRESSED with this company. I will update you after they contact me. Signed 72 year old fisherman that knows how to take care of his rods. PS; The $65.00 covers the cost of the entire rod I'm guessing. They replied to my request for them to fix their faulty rod blank. Pay the $65.00 or go pound sand. This is a very cheep made rod blank that has had many failures. The company gets them so cheep that for $65.00 they can replace the whole rod including shipping. Read all other reviews before you buy. You can buy better rods at Walmart. The service that Moonshine has shown to me makes them one of the worst companies I have dealt with in a long time. Save your money and time, buy somewhere else. The sad thing is that the rod was free and I never got to use it. I feel for my friend that bought the rod because he bought all the BS that the company puts in their advertising. Lifetime warranty is a Joke.
