Workin while walkin
Paired this with an iMovr Everest desk...it is great. I weigh 300 lbs and run this thing for 3 - 4 hours at a time at 2-2.3 mph. Work just as well as sitting down. No trouble typing or using a mouse. Haven't tried writing but I don't do much of that...computer programmer. I'm using this at home...lets me run it a little fast so I work up a bit more of a sweat than I would want at the office. Tequipment were great. Shipped the nearly 200lb package from Florida to Hawaii. Box was the worse for wear...not much left of the bottom...but everything was intact and working and undamaged. Has rollers on front end to allow you to roll it into position...very convenient. The built in bumpers for the lifespan desks are a bit of a nuisance as they made the treadmill just that much too wide to fit through the doorway on both wheels...but with a little muscle it went through. And the bumpers are useful for knowing where to position your 3rd party desk. Deck feels vey sturdy...no give under my weight. Counts steps and I assume it accurately measures distances and speeds. It estimates calories based on the weight you enter. Android software is easy enough to use. Not sure I see the value of it yet. This was a big investment...I made sure it was not a scenario where I would be hanging my laundry on it in 3 weeks. I'll be working from home for at least a year...office is separate from the house. I used to walk 150 miles/week so sitting at a desk all day has been depressing. I bought the top end treadmill because I fully expect to be able to use it to its capacity.

Update: One year of use, still don't like the fan, but it has grown on me.
I ordered this machine through another vendor. It's LifeSpan's top-of-the-line treadmill for desks. I'm sure it's an excellent piece of equipment, but I reluctantly have to send it back because of its noisy fan. The fan operates continuously when the unit is turned on, even when it's not in use. It was easily the loudest piece of idle equipment in my office, and annoying as soon as I would step off the machine to talk with coworkers or take a call. I plan to replace it with the TR 1200, which doesn't have a fan, and is silent when turned on. I wish LifeSpan would reconsider the fan, perhaps using a larger, quieter one, or incorporating a heat sensor that would switch it off when not necessary.May 17, 2016 Update: Yes, I wanted to send the treadmill back, but shipping and restocking fees turned out to be so costly that I ended up keeping it instead. I've been using it almost three to four hours daily ever since. My girlfriend bought the TR-1200 for use at home, so I've been able to compare the two. Despite the TR5000's super-noisy fan (that still annoys me to no end), this model feels better constructed and smoother when running. It requires no maintenance, or at least I've given it none. I haven't yet found anything better on the market, though there are areas where it could be improved: 1) the fan has got to go, someway, somehow; 2) the control panel needs to be converted to Bluetooth to get rid of the wires, and the beeping (on every button pusch) should have a volume control; 3) The steel bed undergirding the walking surface could be made softer somehow, I find my feet hurting after an hour or two of walking; and 4) I wish belt timeout were configurable, as I sometimes need to be away from the device for more than the 20 or 30 seconds it takes to shut itself off.

it's nice. Unlike some reviewers (other websites) I do not ...
I've only owned mine for a few weeks, but so far it has largely lived up to its reputation. It allows me to walk and work--this takes some getting used to, but once you do, it's nice. Unlike some reviewers (other websites) I do not find the noise of the engine particularly bothersome even though I am generally quite sensitive to noise. I am, however, unhappy with some features. The control panel is very basic. If you want to set a speed, you cannot punch in a number but rather use the up and down arrows to push it up .1 units at a time. And every time you do this it makes this loud beep that I find really annoying. That the treadmill stops if you step off it for more than a brief period is probably good (energy conservation etc), but I would have liked to be able to not have this happen. What's more every time it stops I need to hit those noisy buttons many times again. In short, this is largely a good product with some annoying flaws that could and should have been easily fixed.
