Can't Slow Down...and why would you want to?!?
I've noted the poor review by someone (was it done by a real person?!?) at the BBC re the studio version of this album and cannot understand why he is so negative about it, but hey ho, it takes all kinds. Perhaps he was having a bad hair day or maybe just anti AOR rock. Anyway, I was not totally surprised by this double CD offering produced by the current line up of Foreigner, as it largely contains songs produced by the band in their heyday, albeit with a different lead in Kelly Hansen. I have to admit that I've never heard of him before, but he is MORE than a decent replacement for Lou Gramm, with a commanding performance throughout. All the ole' favourites are present and correct, though there are a couple of songs from their extensive "back cat" that I'd like to have heard (possibly they were recorded on the tour, but not deemed worthy of inclusion). I'm not going to review every track as most 'Foreigners' are more than familiar with them, but I need to make mention of the pounding mid-section to the title/bonus track, which must have been awesome to hear live. Think I'll need to invest in the Blu-Ray DVD to appreciate just how good this current lineup of the band perform. Can't keep an old dog down.....and why would you want to?!?

Not Slowing Down
I saw Foreigner live for the first time this year, expecting them to just be going through the motions singing the old classics and yes, they do sing the classics, but they can still put on a good show. The singer has a belting voice and is extremely energetic and engaging with the audience. It made me a fan all over again, so I bought this CD as a treat to play in the car and at work. It has some great tracks on, such as Dirty White Boy and In Pieces.

Foreigner Rocks \,,/,
The last CDs I have of Foreigner are '4', 'Agent Provocateur' and 'Inside Information' that I bought for the ballads 'Waiting For A Girl Like You', 'I Want To Know What Love Is' and 'Don't Want To Live Without You'. That was the 80's and I was also a sweet young boy. ;-)Who can forget the voice of Lou Gramm? 'Unusual Heat' turned me off a bit (Not that bad though) and I did not quiet follow 'Moonlight'. But until last year when I hear 'Can't Slow Down' album. Kelly Hansen may/may not sound like Lou Gramm but he sings as wonderfully and energetically as him. (Or maybe little more). That was the voice I remember in 'Over The Edge' by Hurricane.I saw Foreigner Live with Journey and Styx recently. Such a rock 'n' roll experience of a lifetime. More than the ballads that I always knew, there are more about the band. They were entertaining, heavy, energetic and rocking and what we expect to see in a band when it comes to live music. They rocked the whole show that night.'Can't Slow Down - When It's Live'. I listened to sample music in Amazon. Then I said to myself, 'I must get this album no matter how much!' It reminds me that I'm still in the concert. Double Vision, Head Games, Cold As Ice, Starrider, Feels Like The First Time, Urgent, I Want To Know What Love Is, Hot Blooded and Juke Box Hero. It's all here. To other live albums by the band I've heard, this is different I've found. There's something about it. Foreigner sounds heavy and energetic and that voice of Kelly Hansen is marvellous and powerful live. Gotta watch the DVD now.Foreigner Rocks \,,/,
