AvanaKind Bed Orthopedic Support Wedge Pillow Comfort System, 5 Piece Set, Blue/Grey

I purchased this product to allow an upright sleeping position due to C-Spine issues. Product is as described, flexible, comfortable, and completely modular. The only issue I've experienced is that the pillow set is too narrow to use while sleeping. It is plenty wide enough for the torso, but there is no arm support so lengthy lays upon the pillows require some sort of arm support to prevent discomfort.On a good note, the flexibility of the pillow set allow numerous levels of recline with or without lumbar support.Kind of expensive for what you get.

This system of pillows is great. You can slide the biggest pillow (the one you actually lean back on) up and down in the cradle formed by the lower wedge-shape that goes underneath it, adjusting the lumbar support to fit regardless of the incline you choose. The knee bolster is a really nice touch that makes this pillow set a lot more comfortable than others I've tried. I can finally get comfortable and stay that way, even on days when my arthritis is killing me.If you're trying to sit up fairly straight and the lumbar support is getting in your way, try flipping the big pillow upside down (so the lumbar bulge is where your neck would be). I've found that makes it a lot more comfortable when sitting all the way up to do work.The fabric covering these pillows is really soft and plush. It feels very soft, so the pillows feel almost cuddly, even though they are quite firm. The colors are very well chosen, as well--I have the cream/camel combination in my apartment and find them very striking, and my boyfriend has the brown/sage combination to go with is richly earth-toned apartment theme. Both combinations are very handsome looking.

The support pillow did NOT solve the problem my husband was having with regard to sleeping slightly elevated (not flat on his back), as was instructed by his doctor upon his release from the hospital. The support pillow was VERY expensive, of which I did not mind paying in order to follow the doctor's order and to prevent my husband from experiencing a setback from his surgery. But, the support pillow, once assembled, caused my husband to be in more of a seated position (as for someone who would be positioned to read in the bed) and therefore made it very uncomfortable for my husband to sleep. During the night, I constantly had to awaken him because he would be lying on his side. Worst, I COULD NOT RETURN THE ITEM because of the way it was packaged for delivery. When the plastic wrapping was removed, the pillow INFLATED to its normal size. I COULD NOT DEFLATE it to get it back into the box and therefore had to keep the product and eat the cost.

This is perfect for my needs. Support on the firmer side with just a bit of surface cushiness. My old "pile of pillows" method always crumbled during the night, so I'd keep waking up in a too-flat position with GERD problems. No more! It's like having a favorite recliner in my bed. I appreciate how adjustable it is, yet it stays put where you leave it quite well. Also good for my mid-back pain due to moderate arthritis.User notes:1) Make sure you try flipping the small lower part both ways. It looks square at first, but it actually has a different angle/slope each way, so that changes the way the large piece lays and where the lumbar support hits you. I finder longer side down on the bed is better for sleeping and longer side against the headboard better for sitting up. (The main Amazon photo shows longer side down on the bed.)2) Try flipping the large comma-shaped piece too. I find one direction better for sitting up activity and other for sleeping.3) The pillow bolster gives me mixed feelings, depending on whether I'm awake or sleeping. If I'm sitting very upright using a laptop I find it good. But I find the firmness that my back likes on the other parts of this system are less appreciated by my face for side sleeping on this bolster pillow. If the bolster doesn't suit you at certain angles it's easy to just use your own pillow instead. Also, if you want it to stay in place (I agree with other reviewers who say this part doesn't stay) then buy a yard of elastic and pin/sew it on each end to create your own strap. Easy.4) Flipping the knee bolster around is intersting too. Try it.5) For the perfect lumbar support, try sliding the main part up or down in about 6" increments. Each increment changes the experience, and your patience will likely be rewarded. I personally liked all of them, and the only problem was choosing one.6) Here's a pleasant surprise: the label says its actually made in the USA!Overall this thing is a winner!

This turned up vacuum packed, which I can understand why but to be honest at the price they are charging, I would expect this to be 100% perfect, unfortunately it’s not. Although all items bounced into shape quickly, after 5 days the back support has not, the pillow doesn’t sit properly and it’s not shaped correctly. See pictures, very disappointed because it’s a really nice bed wedge set, just not worth the price!

This comfort system is excellent. It was purchased for myself due to a recent surgery to enable me to sleep at an angle in bed and that's exactly what it does. I haven't had a bad nights sleep, i thought that it might make me a little bit hot in the night but that has not happened . I was slightly reluctant to pay the price initially as I thought it was a little expensive but it's worth every penny. Haven't got a bad thing to say about it it's just excellent!

Item is okay, foam has a strange 'damp' feel to it when out of the covers & a little bit of a chemical scent. The covers are thin, but the zips work fine & they washed with no problems. It would be great if extra covers were for sale, as I can't use the items while they are in the laundry which is a problem. Cotton covers would be a huge improvement.

It is good, better for the back and neck. The quality is good but less than the one in the pictures.It is a bit expensive for what you get.

Excellent quality and just what I needed to get the support I required.

I could really love this if I could find the sweet spot lying on my side. Needs to be a way to allow room for your shoulder. Nevertheless, it's holding up great so far and feels very high quality. Love the removable covers, especially for allergies.

My husband has to sleep upright due to brain cancer treatment and this system is working well for him. With a couple of softer pillows on top, it makes for a very comfortable night’s sleep. It doesn’t move about or slip. The mocha colour blends well with our decor and helps to make this arrangement seem quite normal and less like a hospital room.

Purchased this item as a gift for a family member who’s getting a shoulder surgery. Item came completely compressed so it was hard to determined if it was appropriate. After a few day out of the box, it took its intended shape and it seems as good quality. Firm as you would expected for a foam product. Offer good support for the back.

Great idea, wanted to love it. We bought two sets. Flimsy, soft foam will quickly lose shape and support if you are over 180+lbs. If you are a lightweight like my wife, it might serve you well.

Very comfortable when reading or watching TV in bed. The price was a bit steep though.

I had abdominal surgery and this system was great. It is pricy but Amazon has the lowest cost and I am very glad I did

We had to return this product cause it was packed in such a small box that it had become completely shapeless and wrinkled...totally unusable and not matching the pic we were thought to believe we'll get...total waste of a good product due to the packaging...

I bought the system for post abdominal surgery recovery. I love that I could adjust the back rest to different positions, which made sleeping possible.
