Making baby's clothes are fun!!!!!!
I love love love this book!!!!!!!!!!!!I don't need to go out and buy patterns anymore. There is so much to do in this book. I couldn't figure out which one to do first. Since it's winter time I will make the dresses for my girl's and they will wear warm stockings and shirts. There are 6 chapters. 1st chapter 0-3 months, 2 dresses and an outfit for a boy. Next, 3-6 months two dresses and a little linesman outfit. Next, 6-9 months~ 3 girl outfits and 1 boy. 9-12 months 2 boy and 3 girl outfits. Next, 2 years 3 girl and 1 boy outfit. Lastly,3 years~ 4 girl outfits and boys jacket. You can pull out patterns and trace them on pattern paper. There is a sections that gives you info on the techniques. I can't get enough of this book. I'm buying the next one that is up to 5 years old.Great book! By the way I am a beginner sewer and hand embroider and I always thought sewing was hard but it's so easy just be patient, give it time, and don't rush though a project.

It's ok but could be better
I bought this book expecting I would have enough options for my boys. What a disappointment...From 25 patterns, you have 8 that are actually "sew-able" for boys. 3 or 4 are for both genres, you would just have to change fabric patterns/colors and add/change some details here and there. The cover pattern is definitively cute and is one I'll certainly make before by baby boy gets too big to wear the biggest size.I do know that making things for girls offers you a lot more options mainly if you're crazy for bright, full-of-colors-and-ruffles clothes. The problem is that I am a mother of 2 boys!Another thing is that it gives you pictures only from the finished garments, the step-by-step part is completely made with drawings, which I did not like at all. I think the author just assumes you're a bit more advanced seamstress, which I am not.If you're looking for stylish dresses for your little girl, this is your book. Otherwise, go looking for something else.

My favorite of many kids' clothing books!
I don't know how to adequately express how much I enjoy this book. I actually keep it next to my bed because it makes me happy just to peruse it. There is something about the little styling touches on each piece that make these designs a cut above what you normally see. It's not that that they seem complicated, but they all have something special or extra that would make it utterly clear that the garment is not off the rack. One of my most frequent daydreams is to have more time available for sewing in order to make more of these before my daughter grows too big!PS When I learned that the author has another book out of baby clothes, my eyes welled up and I clicked Add to Cart immediately. I wish this book and the other one were viewable in amazon so you could see what I mean about the unique and absolutely darling nature of these designs.

okay but not amazing- color illustrations throughout are beautiful
This book is okay for a few cute projects at each infant and toddler size. The design skill level is definately appropriate for a beginner- if you are a more skiled seamstress or have an eye for a higher quality finished sewing product, this isn't for you. The patterns are cute, but don't end up as polished as something made using a standard Simplicity or McCall's pattern. The styles for each project seem to use the same pattern or a slight variation, so you don't get a completely new project to tackle as your little ones grow. Some good things: this book is beautifully laid out for an American or European reader with measurements, and the photographs are pretty.

Good book.
I love the baby clothing sewing books. This one is good but not great. The projects are quite limited. I have many other books with a lot more projects in them than this one. The patterns are very simple. So, that's a plus for anyone new to sewing. I will be making some of the patterns from the book, just wish there were more. I was a little disappointed. One big plus is the patterns are already printed in their actual size. No need to enlarge.

and there's not an overabundance of super frilly ultra feminine designs
As other reviewers have noted there are not a lot of outright boy styles in here, but the outfits are all cute, versatile, and there's not an overabundance of super frilly ultra feminine designs. Its a nice book with basic wardrobe staples for the little ones, and its quite nice. I picked up my copy for $2 but would have gladly paid more had I know what a nice book this is. I can;t wait to make a few of these designs.

Excellent book!
This book has adorable projects with clear instructions and very good full size patterns printed in different colors for individual pieces and different oulines for various sizes, which eliminates any confusion. Just trace and cut out. Good "technique" section in the last chapter with great tips. So far I made the "wind cheater" jacket and was very happy. It came out adorable and was pretty easy. I look forward to making other projects in this book!

Love this book!!
All the seamstresses in my family love this book. Super cute projects that can be made with leftover fabric from my older childrens clothing and projects. The details make these perfect gifts for parents to be. I had to get my own copy bc my mother is stengy with hers ;)

Great book but NO patterns in it so useless!
No patterns included in book. Disappointed as now cannot make anything! Waste of money!

Beautiful but inaccurate
This book looks lovely and the patterns are very cute. I was slightly disappointed that several of the patterns only went up to age 1 when the book said 0-3 but the older kids' patterns are lovely too. The problem with this book is the same one that I have had with other pattern books from this publisher - it just isn't very accurate. Most of the patterns are in 3 sizes on the pattern sheet, but you are only told one size to cut of the various rectangles and extra bits needed. The first pattern I made from this required far more fabric than the book suggested. Fabric amounts are only given for one size which may be the problem. I've just finished making a top for my daughter who is small for her age and it was clearly going to be way too short for her. Fortunately I realised and added in an extra piece to make it longer - but this is frustrating in what is otherwise an excellent collection of ideas for beautiful-looking clothes. I wouldn't buy this if you are a complete beginner and hopefully the publisher will take note and improve their technical editing.

This book is great, I bought this to start using/learning on my sewing machine and the patterns/instructions are pretty clear. I have since made three dresses and one pair of dungarees! The only down-side to this book is that there are lots more patterns for girls than boys.

I love the projects
It feels like all the projects are of a varied and type that most people can manage. Even the little 'boy' type projects could easily be made girly and then most could easily fulfil my wants for all things feminine - got a grand daughter after 3 sons followed by three grandsons!

Making my own baby clothing
bought this book because there was a couple of bit in it that i thought my daughter would look lovely in but over all the book was a bit of a disappointment and for all the clothing in it i have only made two outfits and have never looked near the book again. I wouldnt reccommend it to friends or family as i feel there are better patterns out there online that id use more often
