Q: Is the "handle" convex on one side and concave on the other? Or just convex on one side? Also, what is the material thickness?

Yes, I put the convex side of the handle area towards the outside and the concave side of the handle (recessed) side inward. I believe it could go either way.

Q: Does the clear slider have the handle like the picture shows?

I’m sorry, I can’t help you on this. I purchased a black slider for my horse trailer, doesn’t come close to looking like this ;(
