Ultimate Comics: New Ultimates: Thor Reborn

This marvel ultimate line should be a discourse in how to rape, pillage, and burn a once successful creative product. From the bright and imaginative beginnings to this dreadful dregs in less than a decade. It just proves that the right writers and artists truly make or break a series.

I Freak'n loved this,if your a Ultimates fan and especially a fan of great comic ART just buy this .Plus it gives some love to The Defenders.

One good thing to learn is that don't give heroes without super powers because they will get a big head. I forgot Thor died and Barda was there.

The artwork was good. Liked the story especially the way Thor was returned to earth. Don't believe in giving away the storyline but it is worth reading.

I love the origin story, the art and the action. After a rough touch with the Ultimate line it looks like it is finally getting back on track.

I was suckered into buying this because Ultimatium was so good and I really wanted to see what happens next.. only that with all great epics the following stories are usually pretty boring. I felt like the whole book was just cheap filler after I read it with no real character development or build up of suspense and certainly no satisfying climax of any kind. At one point captain america is just shooting guns, while maybe realistic to what is going on it is incredibly boring to see a character with so many cool abilities simply standing there shooting at things. At least they could of drew him shooting in a cool way but nope.. he's pretty much just standing and shooting at stuff. I wouldn't recommend it if you loved Ultimatium because you will be sorely disappointed.

I have long been a fan of Frank Cho's artwork and had high expectations of this book. However, upon receipt I found myself deeply disappointed with the content. The storylie was weak and at times salacious but worst of all was the fact that Cho's pictures appeared static and lacked any dynamic movement. There wewre a few good poses but the book appeared to be more of a set of pictures than story-telling by pictures. I am deeply disappointefd in this book and would not recommend it to anyone, unless you are a real completionist. Nariman

Die alte Reihe von Millar und Hitch habe ich damals geliebt. Doch als das Team die Serie verlassen hatte, war sie nicht mehr dieselbe. Ab da hatten mich die Ultimativen eigentlich gar nicht mehr interessiert, obwohl ich immer den alten gloreichen Zeiten nachgetrauerte und hoffte, dass irgendwann ein Autor kommt und an die großartigen ersten Hefte anknüpfen würde... Das scheint hiermit passiert zu sein.Ein Freund hatte mir dieses TPB empfohlen. Zuerst war ich noch skeptisch, aber nach nur wenigen Seiten war ich echt begeistert. Zwar sind es lange nicht mehr die "alten" Ultimates von damals, aber diese Version gefällt mir ziemlich gut. Wer die Mini-Serie um Thor's wahre Herkunft gelesen hatte, weiß was ich meine. Der Charakter wurde aufgrund einiger Plot-Unstimmigkeiten zuvor korrigiert, nicht unbedingt zum schlechten. Ganz im Gegenteil. Im vorliegenden HC Comic erfahren wir die Origin-Story von Valkyrie, die mich bis Dato eigentlich weder im 616 Marvel Universum noch im Ultimativen Universum je interessiert hatte. Aber jetzt, jetzt finde ich sie WIRKLICH klasse! Loeb weiß wie er mit Beziehungen und Emotionen zwischen den Charakteren spielen kann. Er setzt auch Action gekonnt ein, diese kommt keineswegs zu kurz. Einige Dialoge sind einfach nur göttlich! Über Cho's großartige Zeichnungen muss man sich gar nicht erst streiten. Noch nie hatte ich einen so zeichnerisch getroffenen verzweifelten und zugleich irritierten Ausdruck auf Thor's Gesicht gesehen, als er mit Hela "verhandelt".Insgesamt kann ich nur sagen, dass "Thor Reborn" eine der besten Ultimates Comics, ja gar Comics überhaupt war, den ich seit langem gelesen hatte. Wer weiß was sich zurzeit alles so beim Haus der Ideen abspielt, der versteht was ich meine. Außerdem eignet sich das TPB absolut als einzelne Story für zwischendurch. Auch wenn man gerade nicht auf dem Laufenden war seit Millar + Hitch wie ich, kann man getrost zugreifen. Der fantastische Look des HC und der unschlagbare Preis runden die Sache ab.Fazit: Für Fans der alten und neuen Stunde der Ultimativen ein echter Schatz ganz wie aus Asgards Hallen.

Soy gran fan del Dibujante Frank Cho, excelentes dibujos, la historia regular, aunque sea 'mature audiences'. Pero el dibujo, lo compensa todo.
