Repaired tear - just wish it looked better
Bought this to repair a tear in the console/armrest of our truck. We were able to mix the color and match the color pretty close, but ran into trouble getting the grain texture to apply correctly. It's simply a textured material you lay over the wet product to leave an imprint of the grain. When we tried to remove the material, it removed the repair mixture previously set and we had to start over. We hope repairing the tear will at least keep it from getting any worse, but really wish the finished result would have been better.

Poor quality item, does not work!
I do not recommend this product for any type of work, even if is a small project. The instructions are very hard to understand and once you figure it out, you find that every item that comes in this bag is very cheap. Let me start with the glue, it is a cheap glue and does not work. The paint is also cheap and good luck matching the colors. Be aware that the peace of vinyl that comes with this product is like 2" x 2" . Save your money and buy the existing color vinyl by the yard and replace the whole thing, or get it professionally done.

Read the directions
It’s pretty simple to use and may take a practice try to get familiar with using the product. It comes with a color mix guide but if you’re familiar with mixing colors you can eye it for the best color match. Some tips: try to make the application as smooth as possible and use the texture stamp before it fully dries. There seems to be a few reviews that show they didn’t read the directions fully. The texture paper is a stamp and shouldn’t be left on the product while drying. Also, please don’t forget to use Vaseline/ petroleum jelly on the texture paper before applying it or it will stick and pull off the product. It’s not perfect but it’s great for small repairs.

OK for tiny holes
Bought this to hide a tiny split that appeared in the fold line in the front of the arm of my bonded "leather" loveseat--first indication of its 8-years of service. The spot of white backing showed and drew my eye to it. Received the kit, followed instructions, cleaned , mixed color (imperfectly) practiced (not much help). Applicator too large. Applied with a spear from a Lego set. Later used a small paintbrush. Three coats accomplished the cover-up.. Not as smooth as I would have wished but I lost patience. Now it's not noticeable to anyone but me. Mission accomplished. A month later, tiny holes appeared in the back of the seat (not sure what happened). I mixed the color better and applied it essentially to color the backing and smoothed surface with my finger. (water clean-up) . Dried only minimally darker than when wet. Took a second attempt to address all the tiny holes. So much for bonded leather. Hope this repair keeps that pretty loveseat from looking like junk for a while longer. Could not manage to use this stuff for a slit in an old desk chair--but I did color the stuffing so the slit doesn'stand out at first glance. Fortunately, my family and friends only glance at my furniture before sitting in it and don't actually look for flaws.

Color matched perfectly
I was surprised how easy it was to match the interior leather color of my 2012 Mazda CX9 even though it's like a greyish sand color. Perfect texture was a little harder to achieve but honestly I think it was mostly me being impatient. Overall super happy with the product and the result, covered my tear really well!

Dreadful, not fit for purpose!
Bought for repairs to our Leather Couch which our pet Ratties had taken a liking to. So out of the entire kit I only managed to use the backing material for one of the holes we had. The rest of the kit is junk. The spatula is actually a name tag for seedlings, out of the 6 paints only the yellow was semi liquid,, the remainder had long lost their solvent so were solid. The adhesive didn't adhere, and the grain patterns don't work with the Dye I ended up using (Clyde's Recoloring Balm) If you want to repair anything other than very small holes/rips then do what I had to do; Find a decent length of scrap denim material to use as backing Use Fiebings Leathercraft Cement (availble here on Amazon) to glue the leather/fabric backing together and close up the gap. Recolor with Clyde's Recoloring Balm (not sure if you can get it on Amazon?) Happy with what I eventually ended up doing, but annoyed this kit was not useful for anything.

Repairs as described.
I bought this to repair a bonded leather couch that has started flaking away. Matching the color was the most difficult part. The patch is sturdy and has held, however, the part that has the patch is a bit stiff and hard. Just looking at it, it looks great. When you touch it, you can tell it is a patch. Great for a small spot that needs repair.
