Stens Fuel Cap 125-260 for Murray 024064

Needed a gas cap for an older Craftsman tractor that has a discontinued part. Took a chance on this one and it FITS ! Should have bought the longer model so the gauge would probably have been correct but I just needed a cap that would seal. Nice quality ,good price and fast ship .

The Free generator I have was missing its cap, Measure the depth and thread ID and this cap is PERFECT now I have a cap and a fuel gauge. Great cap. Price a little high for what it is but it works!

Threads were a little tight, but it is bound or cross threaded. Old cap had to be removed to see the level and I did not want my wife to have to go through all of that to check the fuel if I was away or something.

The cap for my generator fuel tank had become cloudy after overfilling once, this replaced that cap and is working wonderfully.

Not sure how long it will last and it doesn't go deep enough to be 100% accurate but it does the job.

The Stens 125-260 Fuel Cap is a direct replacement for the fuel cap/gauge assembly (part number B4363GS) that originally came with my 2004 vintage Troy-Bilt 5550 portable gasoline generator. It is the same dimensions as the OEM part that for unknown reasons decided to quit working. The gauge mechanism in the OEM cap works freely so the only problem I can see is the internal float that actuates the gauge apparently no longer floats in gasoline. I took a chance ordering this part since the vendor's Amazon listing does not list a cross reference to my part number but one of the reviewers said that it fit. I am happy to report they were correct.
