The Only Classic Country Collection You'll Ever Need

This was a great compilation of vintage oldie country songs. I bought this for my Grandparents that only listen to the oldies , because they describe todays country as crap country. This had all their go to songs by original artists. The packaging was quality, had photo's of the artists and a bit of info on them or the song. It was very enjoyable.

I saw this available on here while looking for some Johnny Cash music, as well as a Country Music compilation leading up to the Ken Burns series. This set was available for a good price, and seemed to be pretty well-rounded for a quick look at the history of the music.I wasn't disappointed in this set in the slightest! The sound quality is great, selection of music is great, and even makes a great companion if you have the Ken Burns soundtrack CDs (this with that 2-CD set would have some overlap, but is really great together!)This set will take you from the late 1940's with Ernest Tubb and Bob Wills, up to the 1970's and 1980's with Kenny Rogers and Willie Nelson.Although it omits the period of the 1930's with The Carter Family and Jimmie Rodgers, overall this hits the period that the set mentions, being "Classic Country", when the music started its rise to popularity with Western Swing and Hank Williams.If you want a good Country collection that will give you some good range of the music without a lot of cost or a ton of CDs, give this one a shot. You'll like it!

My husband asked me to pick out a "new" (to him) cd to help him unwind at the end of the day, so I asked him to name a few of his favorite songs or artists and I found this collection of country hits. He loves it! Says it is just what he likes and he's listened to it almost every day since we got it!
