Really excellent quality and price, and US grown is also a bonus. These lentils are especially good for lentil salads since they keep their shape when cooked. So happy with my beluga lentils that I also bought some clear creek idaho grown red lentils this week. Looking forward to exporing more products from this company!!

Fortunately, Amazon's shipping carton was tightly sealed. The paper bag containing Grown in Montana Black Beluga Lentils was torn along the bag's bottom seam. At least half the lentils had exited the bag, but were in the shipping carton.. After I removed all the lentils from the carton and weighed the contents, it appears some may have been lost when the bag was packed in the carton. Purchased weight was 4 lbs. Actual weight was 3 lbs. 10 oz.I've already cooked two cups (dried) and they are excellent. I do recommend following the recommended washing, at a minimum. I washed several times until the water was clear. These are not duPuy French lentils, although they make for a far less costly substitute. I definitely will buy grown in Montana black lentils again, but from a branding that uses sturdier packaging.

I've taken to adding lentils to any ground meat dishes I make. I like that it extends the portion as well as adds a little extra healthy bonus. They're easy to prepare. I add some better than bouillon to the cooking water, and then when cooked, stir them into the ground meat. So far, I've used them in buffalo chicken meatball sliders (the meat was raw, lentils cooked), ground beef for tacos (browned the ground beef and stirred in the cooked lentils), and chicken curry puffs (browned the ground chicken and added the cooked lentils). I follow the directions on the package, but I lessen to 1/2 c of the dried and adjust the water amount. Very happy with the quality of the lentils. I've purchased other dried items from this shop and have been super happy with everything. Will definitely keep returning here for all my dried beans/legumes.
