Good Value
This aleppo pepper does not seem as spicy as a batch I got from another company. It tastes good and is a good value for the money though.

Container integrity in shipping
The problem is that the plastic container was punctured during shipping and the product was leaking out into the bubble wrap envelope. I saved some. Tastes great. Needs better packing though.

A surprising and delicious find
I was quite surprised at how much better this product is than the standard supermarket brands we have on hand. It's the best red pepper I have tried, and the flavor is more rich and complex than any red pepper I have bought, trendy pricey food stores included. This is not food snobbery pretense. A recipe I was using called specifically for Turkish Aleppo pepper, so I looked for it here. It's delicious-- it's not hotter than my usual red pepper, but much more interesting and tasty. I have taken to liberally sprinkling it on just about everything. This is literally the best spice I can remember buying, and I collect spices like some people do shoes.4/17 update, since I keep ordering this and my old review keeps showing up when I try to post another one: Think of the typical red pepper flakes you make spaghetti sauce with. They are not moist, or something you would be tempted to powder your _insert food title here_ with just to have a reason to eat flaked red pepper. It's unusual for me to really like this mild of a spice. It isn't something to sprinkle on popcorn or mix with fish sauce and chopped chilis. It's mild. Put a sprinkle of it on your tongue, and you will notice that it's mild, but also interesting and complex. When you cook with it, it adds a richness that you won't get with the usual red pepper flakes. It doesn't just look and feel different. It tastes different. Use it in your favorite recipe, in place of your usual red pepper. You won't be able to pinpoint why, but your recipe will taste better. That has been my experience anyway.

Almost perfect
I have been looking for soft fresh alleppo for sometime. I always got it at a local Mediterranean grocer but moved away. So I could only find dry hard packages. This isn't exactly the same. But I can't say for sure why. Maybe not quite as spicy or not quite as smoky in flavor but I will order again since it's the best I have come across and a great price. Packaged well to keep it fresh too.

A Superior Pepper!
I have been using Allepo pepper for years, ever since enjoying it at the home of a Turkish neighbor. I cook a great deal and rarely a day goes by that I don't add it to a dish, either as part of the preparation or as a sprinkle on top. I love it's mild but discernible heat and it's fruity, complex flavor. It enhances just about anything - I even put it on my oatmeal!Until now I have always purchased my Allepo pepper through Penzey's but as time has gone on their prices have gone up significantly so I decided to look for an alternative source and I am delighted I did. The Allepo pepper I purchased from Marmara was considerably less expensive, about half the price, but more importantly the product it's self was superior. In a side by side comparison there was no doubt that the Marmara pepper flakes were fresher and more flavorful than those I purchased from Penzey's.In the future I will continue to order my Allepo pepper from Marmara and will recommend it to all those whom I have turned on to this wonderful, versatile and somewhat addictive spice!

LOVED THIS! Too bad it's doubled in price since last year... :(
Would definitely order again if the price hadn't doubled...

No Heat, minor flavor
Mild doesn't do it justice, I can't really detect any hint of heat at all. With that said it does have flavor, it goes well with eggs and with fish, generally with anything you don't want to overpower. I'm not really sure what it tastes like, maybe red bell pepper and a faint note of citrus. I know it has so little heat you can just eat it plain.I won't buy it again since I was really looking for seedless red pepper flake with quite a lot more heat. I like new experiences and am not upset with this, I just don't see it becoming a well-used spice for me.

I love this pepper.
We use a lot of Aleppo pepper in this household. Mildly spicy, slightly salty, adds a nice flavor to anything. Fill a small jar for the cupboard but keep the remainder in the fridge or freezer (what we do). Aleppo is not a 100% dry product. It has a very low moisture content and MAY mold. It's never happened to us but we live in a dry climate. Take note - currently AMAZON has their inventory tag on the wrong product and has sent me Kabab Spice Mix....twice. I'll wait another week before reordering in hopes that they straighten out the problem. I like this brand so don't want to switch.
