Size:3/16 in. thick foam x 3/8 in. x 50 ft. JVCC SCF-01 Single-Sided Foam Tape is a low density, closed-cell PVC foam tape in thicknesses of 1/16, 1/8, 3/16, 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, or 3/4 inches. It is an economical, general-purpose foam tape coated on one side with a high-performance acrylic adhesive. The adhesive on this single-sided foam product is on the exposed side of the tape when you unwind it from the roll; the release liner is pulled away from the non-adhesive side of the tape. A good combination of flexibility and conformability with strength & wear resistance. Also has excellent weatherability and chemical resistance. Used in applications requiring positive seals on irregular surfaces or when flexibility and conformability to seal tight radius curves are critical considerations. JVCC SCF-01 Foam Tape is used extensively in the automotive, HVAC and construction industries to provide air & weather-tight seals; for gasketing, cushioning, vibration control in speakers, vehicles, electronic components and door frames. Also for filling and sealing gaps around windows, doors, and car/SUV tops for better insulation. It is a clean, waste-free substitute for liquid sealants. Please make note that this a closed-cell foam product (to compress it 25% it requires 3.0 psi for the 1/16 inch thick up to 4.0 psi for the 3/4 inch thick); it is not soft like an open-cell foam product would be. It also complies with European RoHS directive 2002/95/BC. NOTES: Sizes shipped will typically be the tape industry standard metric-cut sizes, i.e. 24mm for each 1 inch of nominal tape width ordered (rolls are approximately 5% narrower than the nominal size). This product's actual size is 3/16 in. thick foam x 9mm x 50 ft. Soft foam that forms well. A lot of foam for the price.
Depending on what you want, this foam compresses really flat, so consider what you need. This compressability allows it to form to your surface well. I'm using it for a lid that I want to close tight without the foam pushing it apart, so that's prefect for me. It retains memory after being compressed for a long time, but will release after a day. The adhesive is nice and sticky, yet able to pull off to reposition in installation. It can slide around to lateral force, and can get chewed up if squashed in sharp corners. It's flexibility requires some attention when positioning, as it's easy to overstretch it too much when putting in place. The roll is huge and skinny, so it likes to unravel a bit.After having installed for a week or so, it tends to stay compressed, but still keeps a nice seal to what it formed to. By this time, it is hard to peel off without it tearing. The roll is plenty enough that I haven't had to worry about running out of I need to replace a strip.

Great product, poor packaging
So I originally bought this to only seal my cars speaker so it doesn't vibrate with each bass. It worked amazingly! Also due to be poor quality interior of the Mercury Grand Marquis/ Ford crown victoria, I used it also to seal the door panels so they don't creak when someone applies pressure to it (or they don't make noise over bumps).Sadly, the packaging was in a plastic bag and the roll got crumpled at points because when I opened it, the roll was distorted and the lines were out of place in some areas which made it lose its stickiness. Fortunately there's a lot so I was able to use the foam that was not damaged in the role but still, I paid 10$ for 10ft and was only able to use about 7ft of it.

The thickness is good but the adhesive is not very sticky
Purchased this to seal between the moveable dome sections of my astronomical observatory. The thickness is good but the adhesive is not very sticky. It actually had some stuck to the non adhesive side. The tape hardly stuck to the plastic dome long enough for me to put some staples in it. The tape then shifts and moves on the dome when closed and reopened. Not very dependable. Will have to find some better. Would send it back but have cut some off of it so guess I am stuck with it, no pun intended.

Unusual Application Achieved.
I wanted to use this for backing up wood moldings over brickwork, to make a more finished look and keep the spiders from having more places to hide. IT WORKS GREAT! It forms perfectly to the different rough contours of the brickwork and unless you look very carefully it blends in nearly flawlessly to the dark mahogany finish on the wood.

Foam is good quality, but spool falls apart
The foam itself works fine, I use it to quiet down plastic panels and car license plates.However, the spool fell apart the first time I used it. Luckily the sticker that protects the adhesive is still in place, but now I have to keep it stored in a bag to prevent it from falling apart more.

Perfect for my project
Used to install glass panels in a frame that I built as side lites for my front door. The adhesive is so strong that it held the 1/4" thick glass in place while I nailed in the inside of the frame. Once I touched the glass to it , could not reposition the glass.

Good product
Adhesive is strong and holds foam in place. The only drawback is handling. If you are not careful the material coming off the roll will tangle and twist. It would be nice to have it delivered on cardboard backing.
