I purchased a usb for extension cable so that I could Velcro the link not to the side of the computer. That way I didn’t have the unit sticking out. However, when I wanted to use the controller with my PC it just didn't work properly. I would connect but then have a horrible input delay and not disconnect within a minute or so. This Wireless adaptor completely fixed all that! You just plug it into the USB port on your computer and press the little pairing button on the device and your controller, like when connecting a controller to a new Xbox, and it connects immediately.
