Garbanzo Beans, 20 Pounds – Whole Dried Raw Chickpeas, Kosher, Vegan, Bulk, Sproutable, Low Sodium, Good Source of Dietary Fiber, Protein, Iron, Folate, and Thiamin

So, I started buying non-perishables in bulk in the event of a natural (or unnatural) disaster so that my family won't starve. We cook up a batch of these about once every other week. We've made hummus, stir frys, wraps, you name it. If you do purchase these I recommend the following: Always soak the beans over night, change the soaking water a couple of times, if cooking in a pressure cooker, add about 5 more minutes to the cooking time and also allow the pressure to drop naturally instead of turning the pressure release valve to give 'em more time to cook. I was only able to get about 5-10% of these beans to sprout. I had a batch from local health food store side by side that did much better.Considering my intent for this last purchase was to switch from cooked beans to sprouted raw beans, I am very disappointed.When they are boiled they taste pretty decent however that's not what I bought them... The product has "Sproutable" in the name so I think poor sprout rate is a valid enough reason for the 2 star rating.I will retry sprouting again and if I get better results I will change this review

I need these bean to sprout correctly for my son who has food allergy. I have sprout them before but this time I am deeply disappointed. After I bought 20 lb at once, 2 bags of 10 lbs and out of 20 lbs I still have 19.2 lbs untouched because they are all old unhealthy beans that gets rancid when I sprout them. I email the seller and all I got from their response is a request to leave a review. I respond to their email directly, hopefully I can get it resolved ASAP. Thanksgiving is going to get ruined if I don't get some results NOW.

I have bought organic garbanzo beans from other sources, but I have recently come to prefer Food To Live over other brands. Their beans are always fresh. This is evident because after overnight soaking, fresh garbanzos like these only need to cook for about an hour and fifteen minutes before they are at a perfect level of softness.Food to Live offers a large variety of organic legumes, and it is convenient to me to purchase them in a large size since, on a vegan diet, my husband and I consume a lot of legumes, particularly garbanzo beans. They are my favorite legume. They are terrific in hummus, soups and East Indian dishes.

Specifically looked for "sproutable beans" and paid the high price because of the "sproutable". Successfully sprout many other beans but these are useless. They turned rancid immediately with soaking. But still went ahead with the sprouting process. I'm not even sure they are edible after cooking they became rancid so easily! I am going to try to return them. Will update the review.

Best price I could find. No reason to spend more. I mean, a chickpea is a chickpea, right? And although I picked them over, there was nothing in the bag that didn't belong there. No stones, dirt or anything else. Not even one chickpea that looked "off". I made an awesome ham and chickpea soup with kale! I'll be buying these again!

These are so delicious! I was amazed at how large they get after soaking over night. I have used these differently and each time I am extremely happy with the outcome. I will definitely buy these again and do recommend them.

We are plant based and have been looking for past 12 month this good quality pulses and legumes and food to live always delivers. We love the quality and the taste and the ability to choose package sizes. Will continue to use this. Rand and is our go to for most organic protein products.

I don’t even know how to start but I will say this are by Far the BEST GARBANZO BEANS I TRY !!! Ever there so Good I purchase another 20 pounds !!!! Because the quality I’m afraid I won’t find anywhere!! The delicious 😋 I’m a new vegan lover and I found out how important this beans are for vegan food !!!! I just hope amazon doesn’t Stop 🛑 selling this beautiful product or make it more expensive pls !!! And would be amazing if they had a monthly Subscription too !!! Glad with them I made cheese 🧀 & nacho cheese 🧀 there that good !!!

While the price seems a bit high for chickpeas, they're actually a really great quality. The chickpeas are much larger than most that I get in other stores and brands and The Taste is much different as well.

A nice big bag of organic chickpeas . Fresh tasting, made excellent hummus and a delish curried chickpea soup. Will definitely it again.😊
